everympbot

Anyway, it was a bit of fun, but now that we're under new management we're all here to be force-fed inflammatory hot takes rather than "have fun", so maybe it is as good a time as any for it to go.

The entire thing has been running quietly on a bookshelf in the living room for two years, except for occasional outages due to holidays or forgetting which plug to use for the vacuum cleaner.

According to my notes, the bot tweeted ~450 times with a picture, ~1350 without, plus ~50 weekly updates, and covered ~1650 distinct MPs - out of a pool of 13500+. It deeply loved Frederick Hindle, Liberal MP for Darwen (Lancs) 1923-24, and tweeted him five times.

Looks like @everympbot will be shutting down now - will turn the bot off this weekend. It was a fun little project, and thanks for following it. xitter.cf/TwitterDev/status/1621…

Going to be off on holiday for a little bit so giving @everympbot a break as well: normal service will resume in August!

Trying to decide what to do with it next, though. Suggestions?

it is one year since I set up @everympbot. I'm quite pleased with it - it's been a good excuse to play with python scripting and the twitter API. It has so far tweeted about 420x MPs plus database counts.
