Nooooo it’s spotted lanternfly! Nymphs of this invasive insect are out- scout for it & if you see something make sure to report it. Many thanks to @INdnrinvasive for hosting a great field day today & for fighting this invader in Indiana. Hope we don’t get it any time soon in KY!

This time of year (dormancy) is a good window for managing woody invasive plants like bush honeysuckle with a cut-stump herbicide application. That is, if you can dodge the winter storms and cold temps! Had a great time with Master Naturalists at this week’s weed wrangle

Can't say I'm particularly excited about "spongy moth" but I like the fact that names are being revisited. More realistically, as an Extension professional, I'll probably be talking about "the insect formerly known as gypsy moth" for a while 😂
NEWS: A group of entomologists, forestry professionals, and other stakeholders convened by @EntsocAmerica has recommended "spongy moth" as the new common name for the moth species Lymantria dispar. MORE: entsoc.org/news/press-releas…

But seriously, whenever I finish teaching a class I have a long list of what I want to improve next time. Easy to focus what didn't work... Feedback like this warms my heart. If you are a student, know that your instructors value your opinion and kind words are always welcome.
