As AI speeds up product development, I think the time between shipping a feature and being able to answer a customer's questions about it has to shrink too.

I hear “first principles thinking” all the time, but rarely a shared definition. I wrote down my current thinking: what it is, why AI makes it more important, how to test for it, and how to develop it. evanreiser.com/blog/transfor…

Rereading Influence by Cialdini, probably my favorite book on behavioral economics. My takeaway from the psychological commitment chapter: our brains are so biased toward predictability that we'd rather follow a leader who's consistent than one who's correct.

We launched like 5 products in a few months but I’m really feeling insecure about our next one since tesla set a bar for launching products

AI makes writing code faster, but I'm more interested in what happens when the person who knows the desired outcome can build it directly. In a big company, that can eliminate a lot of explaining, coordinating, and waiting.

“Skybridge” is amazing branding, whoever came up with the term deserves some sort of award In stead of walking through the “long awkward out of-the-way pedestrian corridor” we have the luxury of taking the “skybridge”

I recently talked with Alexandra Guenther, SVP & CIO at @LeidosInc, on Enterprise AI Innovators. Leidos is a Fortune 500 company with 50,000 employees across defense, intel, homeland, and health. A few takeaways from our conversation: 1) Leidos built what she calls the "service desk of the future," over a dozen automations and a bot named Iris that pushes tier one work to self-service, which frees her tier one people to move up to tier two and three. 2) To decide what to automate, she asked every team one question: what's the one task you never want to do again? Everyone said the weekly activity report, so they built GPTs to curate and elevate it. 3) Alexandra wants AI built into the work people do every day. She thinks most of her peers make AI itself the goal. Full episode: enterprisesoftware.blog/podc…

Anthropic snatching defeat from the jaws of victory Imagine after months of silence and global doubt / frustration of your product, you launch a badass model everyone loves, only to publicly announce you will charge for blocked requests the next day
Today, we'll resume charging for requests our safeguards block before Claude responds. This only applies in categories with low false positive rates: biology, distillation attacks, and frontier LLM development. We've seen some coordinated attacks on our systems in recent weeks, and this is one layer of defense. In recent testing, 99.7% of accounts using Claude Code, Claude.ai, or Cowork did not hit any of these newly "billable blocks." The classifiers behind the blocks we’re resuming charging for today are tuned to have a <0.1% false positive rate. We know that's not 0%, and we're going to keep improving them so they interrupt your work less often. If you think a request has been blocked incorrectly, please report it with /feedback in Claude Code. platform.claude.com/docs/en/…

Today, @Abnormal is launching a new AI Security product suite to help customers govern AI, secure AI, and defend against rogue AI. This new suite is built on the same behavioral AI technology that 30% of the Fortune 500 use for email and identity security. Abnormal designs, trains, and deploys our own AI, and we've spent nearly a decade mastering how to understand the normal behavior of business, detect behavioral anomalies, and respond at machine speed.  We're extending our behavioral modeling to include non-human identities, applications, and cloud identities. This enables the same behavioral AI to now power 5 new products in our AI Security product family: 1) AI Governance discovers your AI, uncovers shadow AI, shows who is using what, and how much it costs 2) AI Cloud Security detects + contains AI cloud breaches with behavioral AI and honeypots 3) AI Employee Guardrails enables employees to use AI without leaking data or triggering unintended actions 4) AI Agent Security inventories your agents and ensures they behave as intended 5) AI Security Workbench lets you use AI to run investigations with Abnormal models and without the guardrails AI Governance is already GA and can be installed in one click from our app store. AI Cloud Security is available today for priority customers, and the other products are in private preview for design partners. Learn more on our website and talk to your customer rep to cut the waitlist! abnormal.ai/blog/ai-security…

New episode of Enterprise AI Defenders features Jeremy Koppen, CISO at @Equifax, one of the three major credit bureaus holding some of the most sensitive identity and credit data anywhere. A few points from our conversation: 1) His SOC uses an AI agent to close about 50% of incoming tickets, leaving analysts more time for cases that need human judgment. 2) Equifax rolled out passwordless to 22,000 employees to remove passwords from the attack path rather than add another control. 3) Jeremy's view on shadow AI is that roadblocks just push people to route around them. Equifax added AI to its existing security-review process, with guardrails and training for approved tools, rather than relying on blanket blocks. Full episode here: enterprisesoftware.blog/podc…

I posted a visual explanation of how the recent OpenAI breach to help the non security expert understand what happened, and how Behavioral AI can help with detect these type of incidents And on a lighter note, i had fun with web design evanreiser.com/blog/cybersec…

Every day I feel like the next year in AI is going to be crazier than what I thought yesterday

Last week, @Abnormal announced AI Cloud Security, and I wanted to share our internal prototype about how we’re using Abnormal’s core behavioral AI detection and response technology to stop the next generation of AI attacks. AI Cloud Security is built on the same core architecture and technology that we use for our email and identity security products that protect ~30% of the Fortune 500 today: 1) Map all the human, non-human, and cloud identities 2) Build behavioral models to understand baseline / expected behavior 3) Detect behavioral anomalies 4) Respond autonomously at machine speed We’ve spent the last several years building the core technologies, and I’m excited to start sharing our new AI security products as we build them with this audience. These products will be available to customers this year, but in the meantime, we are working with select design partners to ensure their success in the largest, most sophisticated enterprise environments. We are learning and building every day, and I’m excited to share more as we go!

It took 3 hours and one token to fully compromise an enterprise cloud environment. Anthropic's report from today yet another wake-up call. AI-powered attacks are already here, you just haven't heard about them yet.
