In 1994, Elon Musk wrote a student paper called "The Importance of Being Solar." It ended with a drawing of a satellite beaming solar energy down to Earth. His professor gave it 98/100 and called it "very interesting and well written... except the last figure that comes out of the blue." The 2 lost points were for the space part. Thirty years later, Elon runs both an energy company and the world's leading space company. I wonder what that professor would say๐Ÿ˜‚ With Elon, the "comes out of the blue" part is the whole point.

Russians have just murdered a baby and two women that were walking in a public park in Kharkiv. This is the face of genocide in the 21st century. Now, under U.S. protection, Russia is inflicting massacres at the highest level of the war, all across Ukraine.

NEWS: Bulgarian court approves EU arrest warrants for two Germans in the Starlink antenna arson near Sofia A Bulgarian court just approved European Arrest Warrants for two German nationals charged over the Starlink antenna arson at the Plana teleport near Sofia. Prosecutors say the pair, both born in 2007, entered Bulgaria for a few hours on October 9, attacked the dishes that night, then left for Serbia. They face 3 to 12 years in prison if convicted, and the defense plans to appeal. Starlink ground stations are critical infrastructure that keeps civilians and Ukraine's front line connected. With EU-wide warrants now active, anyone who thinks satellite internet sites are a soft target just got a clear answer.
NEWS: Bulgaria wants Europe-wide arrest warrants for the two men accused of torching Starlink antennas outside Sofia Prosecutors say the suspects, ages 20 and 21, have already left Bulgaria. A Sofia court is now weighing the request after the overnight attack on October 9 to 10 that burned 11 of 17 antennas at the Plana teleport. Starlink sites in Europe have become targets, with Poland, Bulgaria and Lithuania all hit within weeks. A European Arrest Warrant lets any EU country detain the suspects and hand them over, so crossing a border no longer works. These sites help keep Ukraine connected, and Europe is finally treating them as the critical infrastructure they are.

NEWS.: Eleven Starlink antennas near Sofia, Bulgaria, were deliberately set on fire ๐Ÿคฌ MP Ivaylo Mirchev of Yes, Bulgaria says two masked men attacked a secret site with 17 antennas that connect to Starlink satellites and burned eleven of them. He has filed questions with Bulgaria's Interior Ministry and its national security agency, which have not publicly confirmed the attack. If this holds up, it's the second strike on Starlink ground infrastructure in Europe in weeks, after the gateway arson in Poland. The satellites is very important, so Europe has to start treating these sites as critical infrastructure, not soft targets.

NEWS: Starlink keeps a Northern Ireland community connected during power cuts ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช Starlink is now a storm backup for a neighborhood in Newtownards, Northern Ireland. The Bowtown community has a satellite connection in place so residents can stay online when severe weather knocks out the power. When storms hit, broadband and cell service often go down with the grid, and isolated people are the first to be cut off. Storm Chandra left around 10,000 properties in the area without power this January, so this isn't hypothetical. One community hub with satellite internet can be the difference.

NEWS: Starlink reaches 400 rural schools in Argentina's Chaco province ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ท Argentina's Chaco province says 400 rural schools now have Starlink dishes. The push began in May 2025, when the province teamed up with its state telecom company ECOM Chaco and with Telespazio, which donated the 400 kits. Many of these schools sit in remote areas like the Impenetrable Forest region, and some run their dish on solar panels. Getting online classrooms into places like that is what closing the digital divide looks like when it actually ships.

NEWS: Starship Flight 15 eyes November 8 with a dual catch, and Flight 16 could launch from Florida ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿš€ Starship could pull off two firsts before the year is out. Flight 15 is now eyeing November 8 with an attempt to catch both the Super Heavy booster and the Ship, and Flight 16 could become the first Starship launch from Florida's Launch Complex 39A in December. A dual catch means the whole rocket comes home ready to fly again, which is the entire point of Starship. A second launch site on the East Coast matters just as much, because it ends the reliance on a single pad in Texas. If both happen, Starship ends 2026 looking like an operational system rather than a test program.

When Elon Musk was a young guy living in Vancouver with almost no money, he walked into the employment office and asked for the best-paying job they had. It turned out to be $18 an hour to put on a hazmat suit, crawl through a narrow tunnel into a lumber mill boiler, and shovel out the hot, steaming sludge left inside. He later called it "a Dickensian steampunk nightmare," and honestly, that sounds about right. Around 30 people started that week, and by the end of it only 3 were still showing up. Elon was one of those 3. When people look at him today, they see the billionaire, but I see someone who was never too proud for the hardest, dirtiest work, and I think that says more about him than any number ever could.

NEWS: Arsonists try to torch a Lithuanian company storing Starlink equipment ๐Ÿ›ฐ Someone tried to torch a company in Lithuania that stores Starlink equipment just after midnight on Sunday. Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevicius says security services had already warned the firm about possible attacks, guards were reinforced, and the attempt failed. The defense minister confirms an investigation is underway. This is the third attack on Starlink infrastructure in Europe in about a month, after the ground station fire in Poland in late September and the 11 antennas burned near Sofia, Bulgaria, on October 10. Starlink has become critical infrastructure for Ukraine and Europe, so every link in its supply chain is now a target. Credit to Lithuanian services for getting there before anything burned.

NEWS: Starlink is connecting 19 junior high schools in Indonesia's Nunukan district, along the border with Malaysia, where there's still no signal ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉ District head Irwan Sabri says the satellite links will let students in these North Kalimantan border communities take online lessons and computer-based exams that ground networks never reached. This is the side of Starlink that rarely trends. It helps classrooms finally get a stable connection.

NEWS: Tesla self-driving shuttles are coming to Grรผnheide, home of Giga Berlin in Germany ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช Grรผnheide just signed a deal with Tesla to carry teachers and school staff between its two primary school sites in self-driving Teslas, and Tesla is covering the cost. The mayor wants them running before the end of 2026. After the pilot in Germany's Eifel region, it's now being tested right next to the factory that builds the cars. If it goes smoothly, expect more German towns to ask for the same.

BREAKING: Slovakia just gave Tesla Full Self-Driving (FSD) Supervised the green light ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฐ The transport ministry officially recognized the Dutch approval on Friday, so drivers on Slovak roads can now legally use it. The minister called it a contribution to road safety. Tesla is winning Europe one country at a time. Every new recognition makes the case harder to ignore in Berlin and Brussels. And a government framing FSD as a road safety upgrade is exactly the argument Tesla has been making for years

NEWS: Starlink connected four health centers in Morobe, Papua New Guinea ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ณ It's the first wave of a United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) pilot called MeriLink with the Morobe Provincial Health Authority. West Taraka, Tent City and Mutzing are in the same batch, 54 facilities across the province were proposed, and UNFPA covers the monthly fee. When labor wards and rural clinics can share records and call for help without a dropped signal, a safe birth stops depending on luck. This is what closing the last mile looks like in practice.

What I loved most about the Tesla Roadster event: no long slides, no price talk, no endless spec sheets. A car driving upside down, flying over a Tesla Semi, and landing๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿคฏ Other companies tell you what their car can do but Elon shows you. That's why people remember Tesla presentations for years.

MILESTONE: 10 million people in Japan have now connected to Starlink straight from their phones through NTT Docomo ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต Docomo Starlink Direct launched April 27, crossed 5 million in July and doubled that by October 8. It needs no sign-up and costs nothing extra on any Docomo plan. Japan is one of the most earthquake-prone countries on Earth. When cell towers go down, a phone that can still text family, check in as safe and receive earthquake warnings from space is a lifeline. Docomo is proving satellite-to-phone service can scale to a whole nation, fast.
