In collaboration with the Polish Institute of International Affairs (@PISM_Poland ), we held a conference in #Warsaw to discuss opportunities for strengthening relations between the two regions in a changing geopolitical context. The discussions highlighted the importance of fostering mutual understanding and exchanging experiences between #Europe and #LatinAmerica and the #Caribbean as a basis for building stronger partnerships. Participants also addressed shared challenges, including transnational organised crime, which calls for closer dialogue, coordinated action and cooperation across regions. The conference provided an opportunity to explore common priorities, share perspectives and identify ways to translate political commitments into concrete cooperation, advancing a more effective and forward-looking EU-CELAC partnership.

This morning, we took part in the meeting of the Council of the European Union’s Working Party on Latin America and the Caribbean (COLAC), held in #Brussels. Our Executive Director, @Albrunori , presented progress on the 2026 work programme, as well as the initiatives planned for the remaining months of the year. Looking ahead to 2027, he highlighted the importance of increasingly aligning the Foundation’s work with the implementation of the EU-CELAC Roadmap 2026–2027 and preparations for the next Summit. In this context, the Foundation aims to contribute to strengthening the bi-regional partnership by fostering dialogue between governments and actors from civil society, academia, youth and the private sector, helping translate political commitments into concrete cooperation initiatives. We thank the #COLAC Chair and the Irish Presidency of the Council of the #EuropeanUnion for the invitation and the opportunity to share the Foundation’s perspective on the priorities and future of relations between the two regions.

Nuestro director ejecutivo, Alberto Brunori @Albrunori, fue recibido en la Asamblea Legislativa de la República de Costa Rica @asambleacrc por el diputado José Miguel Villalobos, presidente de la Comisión Permanente Especial de Relaciones Internacionales y Comercio Exterior. Durante el positivo encuentro conversaron sobre la ratificación, por parte de Costa Rica, del Acuerdo Constitutivo de nuestra organización. Este paso contribuiría a reforzar la presencia del país centroamericano en los órganos de gobernanza de la Fundación EU-LAC y daría continuidad a su trayectoria de apoyo al diálogo birregional y a la asociación estratégica entre la Unión Europea y América Latina y el Caribe.

Estrechamos relaciones entre la Fundación EU-LAC y Costa Rica durante un provechoso encuentro en el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores @CRcancilleria, en San José, entre nuestro director ejecutivo, Alberto Brunori @Albrunori, y la ministra a. i., embajadora Adriana Bolaños Argueta. Durante la reunión se conversó sobre el proceso de ratificación, por parte de Costa Rica, de nuestro Acuerdo Constitutivo. También se destacó el papel activo de Costa Rica como socio de la Fundación EU-LAC y su participación en distintas iniciativas de cooperación birregional desarrolladas por la organización. Entre ellas figuran el Programa de Formación para Jóvenes Diplomáticos UE-CELAC, las redes de investigación, los encuentros entre centros de pensamiento y los diálogos de alto nivel. Asimismo, San José ha acogido foros multi-actor EU-LAC en los que representantes gubernamentales, de la academia, la sociedad civil y miembros del sector privado han abordado prioridades comunes para la Unión Europea y América Latina y el Caribe. En el encuentro también participaron, por la cancillería costarricense, el director de Cooperación Internacional, Sergio Vinocour; el director de Política Exterior, Antonio Alarcón; y la coordinadora de Asuntos Multilaterales, Adriana Murillo.

Estamos de visita oficial en Costa Rica 🇨🇷para dialogar con autoridades nacionales sobre el proceso de ratificación del Acuerdo Constitutivo de nuestra organización. Costa Rica ha sido un socio activo de la Fundación EU-LAC y se ha beneficiado de numerosas iniciativas de cooperación birregional 🌎🇪🇺. Como parte de la agenda en San José, nuestro director ejecutivo, Alberto Brunori @Albrunori, se reunió con embajadores(as) y altos(as) representantes diplomáticos de @AlemaniaenCR, España @EmbEspCostaRica, @FranceCR, @ItalyinCR, Países Bajos y de la Delegación de la Unión Europea en Costa Rica @UEenCostaRica. Intercambiaron sobre el trabajo de nuestra organización para impulsar las relaciones entre la Unión Europea y América Latina y el Caribe y el Acuerdo Constitutivo, que ha sido ratificado por los 27 Estados miembros de la Unión Europea y 22 países latinoamericanos y caribeños.
