Pre-built AI services in the cloud can address many of your AI needs: Cognitive Services are easy-to-use, customizable, pre-built services that address common tasks where AI may be useful, such as in vision, speech and NLP: Access to Source Code blogs.technet.microsoft.com/…
Sam Altman says society will have to accept severe cyberattacks from open-source AI as the price of preserving freedom
"I support open source models. There is a coming tidal wave of cybersecurity problems that are going to come from these open source models"
"There are people in the industry who say we should ban open source, because otherwise a bunch of systems are going to be hacked"
"We're going to, as a society, I think, have to just accept some fairly severe cyber incidents from open models, in exchange for the liberty that comes with that"

I'm Boris and I created Claude Code. Lots of people have asked how I use Claude Code, so I wanted to show off my setup a bit.
My setup might be surprisingly vanilla! Claude Code works great out of the box, so I personally don't customize it much. There is no one correct way to use Claude Code: we intentionally build it in a way that you can use it, customize it, and hack it however you like. Each person on the Claude Code team uses it very differently.
So, here goes.

NRF 2026 may be over, but the future of retail is just getting started.
We were proud to showcase the future of agentic commerce alongside leading industry leaders. Highlights included our joint presentation with Microsoft and Fashable, engaging discussions during our two roundtable sessions on The Intent Economy, and our participation in the Rethink Retail podcast series.
For three incredible days, we met hundreds of retailers reimagining the customer experience and explored how Rezolve Ai is helping measure and modernize success in this new era of agentic commerce.
We extend our appreciation to our partners, customers, and everyone who stopped by to discuss the future of retail.

Happy Halloween.

Today, I held a meeting with our foreign affairs team regarding our special foreign policy opportunities. These opportunities are available to our state thanks to many Ukrainians and millions of citizens from other countries who believe in Ukraine and support us.
These opportunities allow us to keep Ukraine in the global spotlight, increase support for our state and our people, and effectively advocate for Ukrainian needs. The primary need is to end the war as quickly and justly as possible.
Ukrainians have endured and achieved so much in this war because we have united not only within our state but also kept the world united for the right cause – for Ukraine and for everything that makes our world humane and capable of defeating evil.
Our unity must continue to be preserved – everyone here in Ukraine, everyone in Europe, and the world who values Ukraine and life. This August, we are preparing news about greater consolidation of our people and everyone worldwide who helps us.

OpenAI just announced ChatGPT's new real-time conversational chat.
The model can understand both audio AND video, and can even detect emotion in your voice.
This is insane.

OpenAI GPT is great for any task with plain text inputs. They are indeed pretty bad with structured knowledge like tables, knowledge graphs, database, etc. Their performance on 18 popular structure knowledge grounding tasks (like table QA, text-to-SQL, KBQA) are quite bad. They lag behind the existing specialized SoTA models by 20-50%.
An interesting question we pursue is how to build foundation model to handle these structure knowledge. How far can we get with massive SFT on top of the open-source LLMs like LLaMA? Does scaling help with these tasks?
We constructed a corpus containing 1.1M examples for both structured and unstructured knowledge grounding tasks to fine-tune LLMs. It turns out that such instruction tuning helps significantly. Our model achieves SoTA on seven different held-in tasks. The average performance on 18 held-in tasks is on par with all the specialized SoTA models.
Our model also generalizes reasonably to held-out structure knowledge grounding tasks. Though being much better than existing models (UnifiedSKG and TableLLaMA), the gap with SoTA on these held-out tasks is still quite significant. Therefore, we tried to scale model from 7B to 34B. It turns out that scaling the model only yields marginal gains (3% boost). It seems that the scaling is not the no-brainer solution for these structure knowledge grounding tasks. We believe more work needs to be done to turn LLMs to structure knowledge experts.

Towards Building Generalist Models for Structured Knowledge Grounding
Structured data sources, such as tables, graphs, and databases, are ubiquitous knowledge sources. Despite the demonstrated capabilities of large language models (LLMs) on plain text, their proficiency in interpreting and utilizing structured data remains limited. Our investigation reveals a notable deficiency in LLMs' ability to process structured data, e.g., ChatGPT lags behind state-of-the-art (SoTA) model by an average of 35%. To augment the Structured Knowledge Grounding (SKG) capabilities in LLMs, we have developed a comprehensive instruction tuning dataset comprising 1.1 million examples. Utilizing this dataset, we train a series of models, referred to as StructLM, based on the Code-LLaMA architecture, ranging from 7B to 34B parameters. Our StructLM series surpasses task-specific models on 14 out of 18 evaluated datasets and establishes new SoTA achievements on 7 SKG tasks. Furthermore, StructLM demonstrates exceptional generalization across 6 novel SKG tasks. Contrary to expectations, we observe that scaling model size offers marginal benefits, with StructLM-34B showing only slight improvements over StructLM-7B. This suggests that structured knowledge grounding is still a challenging task and requires more innovative design to push to a new level.
