Alex Eala gave a great quote in press about why it’s so important for her to enjoy tennis and the life she’s living “I want to ask you about something you said in an interview with Sky Sports. You were asked about how you see yourself 10 years from now. Some players would say ‘I hope to have 2, 3, 4 Grand Slams.’ But you said something different. You said ‘I just want to make sure I gave it my best, worked hard, & had fun.’ Alex: “I think it would be such a shame if I didn’t do my best to enjoy. There are so many people who are showing love for me and all the other players. You know, I’m playing on Armstrong, like… You know when you’re dreaming when you’re a little kid, you don’t know if you’re actually gonna do it. Of course you say ‘I can. I can. I can.’ But whether you actually do is a different thing. Now I’m actually here. It would be a big shame if I didn’t enjoy what I had.” 🥹 (via US Open Press)

Asked Alex Eala about what it means to be able to share parts of Filipino culture with the rest of the world "I am kind of just like a drop in the ocean, you know, when it comes to Filipinos and their pride for their culture and where they come from. "Me, I do a lot to kind of represent my country, and I'm very proud of it. But you see, I mean, the stadium was full of people who do the same thing, right? I guess that just shows you what kind of a community we are, and what kind of a people we are, and how supportive we are of each other."
