Was recently reminded of this article- worth a read, whether you're a scientist or not:

This entire thread is a master class on how to engage in productive dialogue with teachers re employing the science of reading — or really any learning science — in practice. Start with empathy rather than condemnation.

Engaging in practices which foster functional illiteracy should spark outrage and be called out, but there are respectful ways to start and continue those conversations. We can and should challenge without being awful.

It's free for anyone to use and adapt. The slides are not very wordy, but the labs are stand-alone and should be used as such: github.com/rdgao/COGS118C/tr…
They go through the intuition behind the DFT, and subsequent time-frequency (& other) analyses for neural signals.

There's not much empirical research on the development of synesthesia, primarily because it's difficult to recruit young synesthetes. @RadhikaGosavi knows the struggle...
Since working @SynapseSchool I've met at least 3, including 2 w/ number forms! So. Many. Experiment. Ideas.
Finally dipped my toes into the synesthesia pond and ooh the water's fine. Very engaging for young learners (they think it's like a superpower!) and is a nice intro to the benefits of multisensory learning.
P.S. check out our synesthesia paper out now: authors.elsevier.com/a/1ZirG…
The published version is free through that link til Oct. 30th. After that, feel free to DM me for a copy.
It's also available on @PsyArXiv: psyarxiv.com/m4gw2/
