We identified a 2nd wave of sweeps likely attributed to the same Coldcard hacker as the wave we described in the thread below.
We are now tracking 1,158.81 BTC stolen from 2,673 addresses and held unspent across 7 attacker addresses.
Updates to our analysis from yesterday 👇
We mapped the flow of funds for the Coldcard vulnerability based on the pattern identified by engineers at Block and shared by @clay_garrett
1,196 addresses drained in full for 1,082.65 BTC (~$70.2M) between 01:10:20 and 01:51:26 UTC on Jul 30 — a 41-minute window, blocks 960,183-960,191. That preceded the hardware-wallet vendor's public advisory by ~30 hours.
Signature: every sweep paid an identical hardcoded 30.0 sat/vB — a 30-75x overpay vs the 0.4-1.0 sat/vB median that week — and left no change output. That looks like an automated tool spending keys it already held, not owners moving funds. Victims: 1,183 native segwit (BIP-84), 7 BIP-49, 6 BIP-44 — consistent with multi-path key scanning.
Proceeds consolidated within minutes and have NOT moved since:
- bc1qq85v2c9...cu9r — 562.02 BTC
- bc1qx76cae2...fhe3 — 398.48 BTC
- bc1q8jy96fe...tp3q — 89.62 BTC
- bc1qnk4zh9q...fecp0 — 32.45 BTC (unmoved)

More people and institutions transacting means more value moving onchain and subsequently Ethereum’s TVL rising.

We have identified that certain npm packages starting with @ensdomains published around 5:49am UTC today may be affected by a Sha1-Hulud supply-chain attack that has compromised over 400 NPM libraries, including several ENS packages.
The team has updated all latest tags and is proceeding with key rotations and currently attempting to unpublish all impacted versions.
USERS: Current reviews indicate that ENS Labs-operated websites, including app.ens.domains, have not shown signs of impact related to this issue. At this time, there is no evidence that names have been affected.
DEVS: If you have not installed ENS packages within the past 11 hours [since 5:49am UTC on November 24, 2025], there is no indication you are affected.
If you have, please refer to the following link with a list of affected packages and install the latest version.
We will continue monitoring and provide updates as more information becomes available. Developers or teams with questions can contact us through established support channels.

We’re proud to announce Zama's next genesis operator: @etherscan.
Etherscan is one of the earliest and longest-running independent projects built around Ethereum and its community, with the mission of providing equitable access to blockchain data.
As a Zama MPC operator, Etherscan will help secure the private FHE key that powers the Zama Protocol, ensuring confidentiality without compromising verifiability.
Learn more about the Zama Protocol and its operators in our litepaper: docs.zama.ai/protocol/zama-p…
🔔 Tomorrow, we reveal another genesis operator.

A Decade Onchain: Our Shared Journey
Ten years ago we started with a simple idea: To make Onchain data open, accessible and human-readable for everyone. In those early days, it often felt like we were just charting an unknown space:
medium.com/@etherscan/space-…
Back then, our role was simply to map each block so others could navigate their way safely and transparently.
Over time, that map grew into core infrastructure. We came to realize that running a block explorer is more than indexing block data—it’s about maintaining a trust layer made up of countless precise components, relied on by users, researchers, and builders alike. It’s a responsibility we’re grateful for, and one we continue to take seriously.
Along the way, we introduced Explorer as a Service (EaaS) and began building explorers across L1s, L2s, and other networks. Together with project teams, we adapted explorers to local needs, improved them through countless forks, and worked to turn raw data into clarity that users could rely on. As those networks grew, we grew alongside them—release by release, step by step.
Today, Etherscan explorers serve hundreds of millions of users across the most consequential blockchains. That reach was never our aim in itself. But simply the outcome of many small, careful decisions to keep the product fast, factual, and fair... Every day, every market cycle.
This milestone belongs to the community:
• To users and researchers: Thank you for trusting us to be your onchain lens.
• To developers and project teams: Thank you for the feedback that sharpened the explorer and enriched the data.
• To our EaaS partners: Thank you for choosing us to power the explorers your communities rely on.
• To the Etherscan Team: Thank you for the steady and quiet work behind the scenes.
As we look ahead, our principles remain unchanged: clarity over hype, neutrality over noise, respect for privacy, and an uncompromising focus on the details that make blockchains legible.
This next chapter will also be defined by giving back—supporting the communities and ecosystems that made this journey possible. We will continue investing in tools, programs, and initiatives that strengthen the ecosystem and empower those who build and explore within it.
Here’s to the next decade--> Back to building 🚀 @etherscan

The “$2M/year” flat fee pricing claim is false. Pricing depends on actual infra & support needs. Ads only run on community explorers (e.g. etherscan.io) to offset ops costs, never on partner explorers unless explicitly agreed. Partners get full dedicated explorers plus priority support, continuous updates, SLAs, APIs & much more — not just a “tiny box.”
I hear etherscan charges $2,000,000 a year to support a chain. And when they discover there's more work to do, they probably charge more. Because PulseChain is a fully stateful fork of Ethereum, it has 10 years of transactions to index and display. Vastly, vastly more than new empty chains. And for the $2M or more a year, your users will be advertised other chains, and be shown ads. And Ethereum users will never see your chain, because you'll be shown alongside 35 other chains in a tiny little box no one clicks. Maybe with the extra work they'd do it for $4,000,000 a year lolololol. Why don't you give em a ring and ask. But then you gotta ask yourself, why aren't they paying you to advertise trash to your people? I think no ads is pretty cool and protects people from scams. Here's the tiny ass little box no one clicks.
