How the fuck are people on minimum wage supposed to survive in the UK? Not everyone can “get a better job.” Not everyone has a partner to split the bills with. Not everyone can move back in with their parents. Someone still has to stack shelves, clean hospitals, serve food and keep the country running. Yet people are working full-time, watching their entire wages disappear on rent and bills, then spending the rest of the month praying nothing goes wrong. We’ve somehow accepted that if you’re on minimum wage, you’re just supposed to struggle. Minimum wage no longer covers the basics. Something needs to change.

🇺🇦🇷🇺 RUSSIA’S REFINERIES ARE BEING HIT FASTER THAN THEY CAN RECOVER Ukraine’s pressure on Russia’s oil industry is becoming cumulative. Some facilities are now taking fresh damage before repairs from earlier strikes are even finished. Reuters reports that Rosneft’s Syzran refinery stopped processing crude after the September 15 attack heavily damaged its main distillation unit, which accounts for roughly 71% of the plant’s capacity. Its second unit was already undergoing repairs after a previous Ukrainian strike. Restoring operations could take at least a month. The Saratov refinery has also halted crude processing after another attack, barely after beginning to recover from earlier damage. Together, Syzran and Saratov have roughly 290,000 barrels per day of nameplate capacity. That is the increasingly difficult equation for Moscow: repair crews are no longer simply restoring isolated damage. They are working against repeated strikes on facilities that may still be vulnerable from the last attack. The disruption is tightening Russia’s domestic fuel market and has already pushed Moscow to restrict fuel exports. What began as individual refinery outages is increasingly becoming a sustained problem for Russia’s refining capacity and war economy.
