Guess she means when I was a kid in Jackson, MS & the KKK blew up a synagogue near my house & my dad & his partner arrested 3 of the KKK racists who did it & we had to move out of our home until they rounded up the other KKK a$$hats as they threatened to kill our entire family?

Literally no group sexually assaults children more than straight Christian men in positions of authority.
And they’re the ones creating a mob in a frenzy attacking drag queens.
And some of you are falling for it.

It’s my birthday. I’m 37 and I have some things I’d like to share, in no particular order.
1. No one thinks about you more than you do. That thing from two years ago that keeps you up at night? No one else remembers. Honor the memory and let it go.

12. Parenting is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. And it’s totally worth it. The foundation of parenting is loving them, accepting them, protecting them, and showing the fuck up.
Hot take: thinking about whether or not other people are having sex, especially for the purposes of procreation is weird and has nothing to do with you so maybe mind your business.
Waiting at my gate to head home after another fantastic #writethedocs - I’ve really missed my fellow documentarians. They’re so often some of the most incredibly thoughtful and detailed people. Special thanks to @domesticat, too :)
“Someone shit in a pan and called it a cheesecake. That’s markdown tables.”
There’s my #writethedocs conference quote. Ta-dah.
I woke up an hour before my alarm and now i need to get in gear and pack up because I leave for home tonight. I had a great day at #writethedocs yesterday - looking forward to another one today!
This is a link to the 2019 “Friends of the docs” talk (writethedocs.org/videos/port…)

Ask for access to all the things. You’ll be better prepared for changes.
The more you know!
Offer UX copy, report bugs, etc.
For real, if your devs are any good, they are going to appreciate it later and they’ll be more receptive when you have questions.

“It’s hard to have good docs without a staging environment”
YEAH, WE KNOW. OMG DO WE KNOW :D
But really, being able to actually see and touch what we’re documenting is massive for our productivity.

Know your external roadmaps, get communication and feedback from product managers.
The more channels you can establish, the better your info. This can be challenging. But it really matters if your docs are going to be accurate and up to date.

Daniel Murphey’s #writethedocs talk: Why it’s good to keep your docs up to date with your product:
These are things that make #writethedocs pretty much my favorite conference.
The thoughtfulness at this amazing @writethedocs conference. Accessible amenities kit in restrooms.
And MOAR stickers!

Yeaaaaaah no :D
@_MsLinda has a lot of great insights and has gathered a lot of great lessons.
If you have a supportive manager, they’re hopefully going to help you work down that career path before you realize that’s what you want or might be good at.
I’ve been lucky - but it’s also why I am in my current job. I KNEW the manager I was going to work for is supportive.
