We left @Ch_JesusChrist 2 months ago. My husband was the bishop and we have 6 kids. Didn’t have a grand plan, just knew there were things we didn’t believe anymore & things we couldn’t/wouldn’t support anymore. Thought it would feel like falling but mostly it feels like floating
Three years out and I’m still surprised how little @Ch_JesusChrist cares.
I went over to the Deseret News to see what the Mormons are saying about dangling constitutions and such: Nothing. BUT E.T. Benson’s grandson would like you to know that deportees are doing fab. Look how happy that guy looks. Thank you pres Trump & I.C.E. You guys are the best 😃
It’s a grey, grey day and that time of the year when it feels like winter will last forever but it’s also the time of the year when Tesco sells little bundles of daffodils for £1 so 💛
Some of the worst things they say are quotes from LDS prophets and apostles. Current leaders turn a blind eye. They will call out a former BYU student for saying *everyone* is loved, important, and not broken, but not the deznats and their hate.

The musket fire talk was the last straw for me. On a related note, here’s why I don’t trust that Patrick Kearon is any different. I know another leader in the UK who seemed compassionate and kind. He often spoke about his 5 gay siblings in a way that sounded empathetic 🧵
I think the men who move up in the system agree with the bad stuff. Some are just more open about it.
One of the best things about leaving @Ch_JesusChrist: I don’t have to be careful about showing too much love and empathy.
It’s too often the church that “has been unkind, in many instances crushingly cruel.” Sacrilege to use that pretty scene on an ugly musket fire quote.
Heads up, someone created a fake account and took money for this picture. I feel terrible that happened. Sometimes I’m a little slow to reply so I guess triple check the @. Sad that someone would do this 😢
I’m fine with members talking about their good experiences in the church and how it makes them happy, but when they start using words like dark and unclean to describe perfectly lovely people, their own kids even, just because they left the church- no.
I love when members do the “they never said that” thing. You mean you wish they never said that.
The second part of the video 💕

I’m sorry this happened to both of you.
Patrick, please look at over 600 instances of sex crimes allegedly perpetrated by active Latter-day Saints: FLOODLIT.org
In most of these instances, there was a criminal conviction.
Listen to victims, survivors.

Imagine if all the members of @Ch_JesusChrist were saying we will love, support and sustain you to Jennie this weekend. And to the many members and former members like her 💔

I didn't need weeping. I needed them to help get me, my mom, and siblings away from my abusive father. I needed therapy and resources. I needed to know that my physical and mental safety was more important than my dad's milquetoast "repentance process." Thank you for speaking up!

To @PatrickKearon, I would like to speak directly to you. The church fails to protect children and chooses to inflict additional trauma on survivors. Have you read their stories? Members hope you are the leader they’ve been waiting for. I hope so too. Weeping isn’t enough.

I mean, this entire thing came about because no one did the right thing. No one helped us when it would have mattered. So why the hell would they start now? Even with the increased awareness on the issue, there is no winning against the LDS church and its army of lawyers.
I offhand mentioned eggnog and he goes and spends an hour (including research and a trip to the store) to make me some 🥺🥺
It’s the church’s narrative that you should be quiet. I keep seeing people say most do leave quietly as if that’s a good thing. Look at what some brave exmos won’t be quiet about. They won’t be quiet about lies the church tells.
Members, whether you realise it or not, you need loud opposition. This is why you don’t have to do polygamy now, why black families can be sealed in temples now, why women no longer have to promise to obey their husbands, why children can have another adult present in interviews.
