JUST IN: Anthropic study finds AI & robots together are already capable of performing tasks covering 81% of U.S. employment.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The Anthropic study measures technical exposure of ~80-81% of US job tasks (by working time) to LLMs or robots (mostly limited/structured settings for robots); robots are cost-competitive for only 0.3% of tasks with major barriers.

this was foretold. i have been warning of this since 2014. and here we are. we need a burgeoning AI legal technology ecosystem.
Chat estimates $40-$65k for materials and labor. At $52.50/hour in wages ($92.53/hour compensation). Plus another $39-$104k per NYC DDC estimating guidance.
$80k-$170k perhaps even $200k-$250k total.
It’s good to be the king.
It costs $750k to replace a 4,000 square foot roof? That seems pretty crazy.
The railroads received enormous land grants, 130 million acres of federal grants plus another 48 million acres from states. And those grants became assets for timber, townsites, minerals, and oil and gas in addition to railroad fares.
The original US land and oil barons.
Peter Thiel in his lectures talks about how the railroads were an amazing public good, but because there was no monopoly, the railroad building companies kept competing until they tore each other apart, so could not extract the economic value, and they went bankrupt.
It was obvious from the beginning that that was AI.
The big AI companies are screaming doom and safety because they know they are the 21st century railroad companies and know the only way to avoid that fate is a monopoly from government regulation.
It really is that simple.
So I just want to say, sorry frontier labs, u knew what u were getting into, don't hold us hostage. Ur going bankrupt, but thanks so much for what u r doing before u do.
Confiscation of women's identity documents like abusive pimps. Restrictions on entry, but based on social status. Regulation of bodily autonomy. Thinly-veiled threats.
Does it get any more socialist than this?

The Democratic Party assaults on the Bill of Rights will fail just its previous attacks on civil rights have.
Amazing to see the Democratic politico lawsuits about technical vagaries of federal statutes.
If they were to only apply that rigor to their own Dem state statutes, maybe their own constituents wouldn't hate their Dem state administrations.
But hate is now leftist currency.
Democratic Party leadership and national campaign organizations filed a lawsuit accusing the Trump administration of unlawfully threatening to send armed federal agents to polling places in the November midterm elections. news.bloomberglaw.com/us-law…

We’re sharing a solution to the Navier-Stokes Millennium Prize Problem, one of the deepest problems at the frontier of mathematics.
The proof was produced by a group of agents, using an OpenAI next-generation model significantly more capable than GPT-6 Astra.
The problem concerns whether the description of smooth three-dimensional fluid motion modeled by the Navier-Stokes equations can break down. It has remained unresolved for roughly 90 years.
Don’t you remember who was attacking democracy? Attacking rule of law? A free and independent press? Who was violent, who were religious fanatics, anti-science?

Are the articles good? No. Lol.
We had to expend so much effort just to curate them it has been ridiculous. But too much has been right to merely dismiss it naively.
So now we have skeleton articles on major topics that we must finally expand.
And AI is dragging its feet.
