Former U.S. President Barack Obama chose Northern Ireland, an epicenter of antisemitism, to deliver a distorted account of Israel’s founding. This week, he reduced thousands of years of Jewish history, millions spent legally purchasing land, the UN partition plan and the 1948 Arab invasion to a story of Jews stealing land. He questioned Israel’s morality while describing Hamas’s October 7 massacre as something that was “less likely to produce meaningful change.” This is exceptionally dangerous. A former president’s distortions become the foundation for the next generation of lies.
