Want a REAL-WORLD taste of what open source (aka open weights) models mean for the COST of AI projects? Worked on a client build this weekend - used about 47M tokens on Openrouter. If I used GOOD models from OpenAI or Anthropic (not even the big boys like Fable or Astra...) Claude Opus 5 (High) would've cost $61. ChatGPT 5.6 Sol (High) would've cost $24.98. Instead I used GLM 5.3 Flash the whole time. Super fast and honestly couldn't tell a difference from the models above. All-in API cost? $2.33. Not a typo - TWO DOLLARS. Ya'll... the market's going to look entirely different in 2027.

Quick reviews of this year's major summer "duds" now that they've hit streaming: - Masters of the Universe - Campy fun for 80s kids. Prob swung a little too silly. - Mandalorian and Grogu - A TON of fun for the first 2/3. Mediocre final third, but still liked it. - Supergirl - Fun little popcorn movie. Small story/small stakes. Better than some of the recent Marvels, imo. The takeaway: Saw MASSIVE hate for all 3 of these online. ALL were watchable and fun, if forgettable. Don't rule stuff out because of Rotten Tomatoes 🤷‍♂️
