I HAVE TO STOP MY WORK AGAIN BECAUSE OF @PerplexityComet! It genuinely makes zero sense and I am sick of it! Someone needs to address this! 🤨 I can keep 50+ tabs open on @PerplexityComet with zero lag/freezes/glitches! ~10 tabs open with chrome and my laptop is fried. I really can’t stress this enough, Comet has truly made much less tense/stressed from extra loading times. Not sure if it’s stress or just like nausea from long loading times or a website not working in general on Chrome because of lag or attempts to pull so much processing power and ram. (@flowith is 1% away from being inoperable on Chrome) Now I KNOW the first thing you’re going to say is “upgrade your cheap laptop, or get better WiFi” So to clear that up, I have a 64GB Ram MB Pro M1 + Verizon glass fiber optic cable internet 2GB/2GB (so the issue isn’t my system) (as you may notice after reading a bit, I’m not here to talk bad about comet 😝 it’s to talk good + show..) …ITS CHROME DOING THE DAMAGE! Google’s tracking on chrome is out of touch and extremely inefficient! In the images attached below, you see a @Kimi_Moonshot Deep Research link (kimi.com/chat/d1jejkaej2du42…) on both Comet (left) & Chrome (right) — I even left the time stamp above to show it’s Chrome and from today roughly an hour ago. @PerplexityComet is running it at: 529MB @googlechrome is running it at: 2.7GB USING MORE THAN 5 TIMES EXTRA RAM! When I see this, I immediately think… how much battery have I been wasting because of Chrome, how much extra energy are we wasting worldwide just from using Chrome? How much extra are we paying energy providers? @PerplexityComet has truly revolutionized the way I work and increased the speed of my workflow. The persistent multi tab memory has been more useful than words can describe right now, I would have to make a video on this alone. The seemless intergreation with research, tab grouping has been super super super useful! Think im joking? Here are some stats from Comet on my usage this past week ~35% faster assembling multi-source, multi-tab research packets using Comet’s auto-grouping and cross-tab/page summarization compared to Chrome. I am 2x as likely to revisit (and actually find) a previous insight or source via Comet’s memory/search — statistically reducing “lost page” syndrome that plaques 84% of academic Chrome users. In active research sessions, I’ve generated ~5x more shareable digest m/citation rich threads (for X, group chat, or export) due to Comet’s inline citation and markdown/visual output (I can say this is very accurate!) “Power users like you change focus up to 17 time per session; Comet automates context retention and prevents information siloing, compared to manual ‘copy/paste/screenshot methods in Chrome’ this is another gratefully under appreciated and probably the most useful feature on the platform by far!” Also, I love how there’s no ‘forgotten’ queries in Comet, I can return obscure but relevant 3x more time than Comet If you want to learn more about AI, follow me @chrisuniverse & Turn On my Post notifications 🔔
