Oh at some point I think we all knew we’d be lucky to hold on to Lou and legends like him much longer. So many we’ve looked up to and many I had the honor and privilege of not only covering, but working alongside eventually head to their next life of eternal glory. ✝️🙏🙏My thoughts are with his family, especially my dear friend @SkipHoltz his wife Jen and their extended family. His beloved wife Beth awaits. 💜Coach Holtz has always been a National Treasure. 🏈
Let’s hope for another successful hatch and fledge.

RIP
RIP 💔 The world just lost the mathematical genius behind GPS technology.
Gladys West, the mathematical titan who developed the essential foundation for GPS, has died at the age of 95.
Born in 1930 in rural Virginia, West spent her childhood picking crops before a scholarship to Virginia State College launched her into a 42-year career with the U.S. Navy.
As one of only four Black professionals at the Naval Proving Ground in 1956, she worked in quiet brilliance to solve the complex algorithms that account for the Earth's gravitational irregularities. Her calculations were not just academic exercises; they were the indispensable building blocks for the satellite navigation system that billions of people rely on today for everything from global shipping and aviation to daily commutes and smartphone apps.
For decades, West’s monumental contributions remained a "hidden" chapter of American history, recognized only late in her life through inductions into the U.S. Air Force Hall of Fame and the prestigious Prince Philip Medal. Her legacy is one of profound perseverance, having navigated the systemic barriers of the Jim Crow South to redefine how we perceive and navigate our planet. Though her work powers the digital maps on every smartphone, she famously retained a personal preference for paper maps, a humble nod to her roots and the physical world she spent a lifetime mapping. West passed away peacefully surrounded by family, leaving behind a world that is infinitely more connected and precise because of her brilliant mind.

Something incredible I noticed at the end of the Peach Bowl.
An Oregon staffer found D’Angelo Ponds to give him the ball he scored the defensive touchdown with on the first play of the game.
Complete class act.
Poet:
Her name was Renee,
She thought she could save the day.
Little did she know, she was just in the way.
She was a mother, but not that day
She should have stayed home with her child to play.
Instead, she let her emotions get in the way.
She could have been here today.
Just a day after Renee Good was shot and killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis, two people were shot by Customs and Border Patrol agents in Portland, Oregon.

PRAY for Minneapolis.
Pray that corruption would be exposed and that justice is served.
Pray for the safety of its citizens.
Pray for those who enforce the law.
Pray that its leaders will have wisdom to discern good decisions from bad,and have courage to make right decisions.

BREAKING - Somali fraud in Minnesota was so bad that almost a decade ago former Minnesota Rep. Jason Lewis was blowing the whistle on Somalians setting up fake childcare centers, taking in millions, and flying it out of the country in suitcases through Minneapolis airport.
