We are absolutely devastated to let you know that David ‘Wav’ Ashcroft passed away last night. What an amazing person Wav was. He was our first choice keeper and part of senior section management team. An Ellesmere Port legend and a wonderful person both on and off the pitch.

Our thoughts are with his family and everyone close to him. We are asking that each team playing at home this coming weekend hold a minute of clapping before kick off as a show of our love and respect for an amazing person who will be missed so much. 💙💙💙

He’s been in and out of an Ellesmere Port Town team for the best part of 26 years and was a very well respected player and in recent months as a club official. He will be greatly missed throughout the whole of Ellesmere Port.

We are hugely frustrated that Saturday’s pre-season friendly at Mold Alexandra has been cancelled at less than 48 hours’ notice, with our opponents now set to face alternative opposition instead. 🙏 We are now seeking a fixture, and would be grateful if this could be shared
