DON’T BE FOOLED: MASTER’S DEGREE IS JUST ANOTHER DELAY TO STAY WORKING IN US
Hoover found a lean toward graduate degrees. That is no accident.
Congress carved out 20,000 extra H-1B slots for US master's degrees, outside the 65,000 cap. In 2019 DHS rewrote the draw so those holders get two chances.
The degree buys the second draw.
The important part to mention: OPT lets the graduate work here while waiting for it.
A system that rewards a degree bought here should not be sold as proof of a shortage.
🚨 THIS IS HOW YOU MISLEAD PEOPLE WITH ACCURATE STATISTICS.
The Hoover Institution compares H-1B workers with the ENTIRE American workforce.
58% of H-1B workers have graduate degrees versus 14% of native-born Americans.
Impressive. Until you examine the comparison.
H-1B is designed for degree-intensive occupations. Why compare those workers with Americans in jobs that don’t even require a degree?
Compare them with QUALIFIED AMERICANS competing for the same positions.
And look at what Hoover’s own research reveals:
• 70% studied computing or engineering.
• 64% work in professional, scientific and technical services.
• 71% of advanced-degree H-1B approvals involved people already here on F-1 student visas.
Yet we’re supposed to believe graduate degrees alone demonstrate a talent shortage?
Where’s the evidence that qualified Americans weren’t available?
A prestigious institution should know the difference between measuring credentials and proving a labor shortage.

Caleb Hammer completely unloads on a Louisiana couple after learning their $100,000 household is collecting $500 a month in FOOD STAMPS.
That’s $6,000/year in TAX-FREE income.
HAMMER: “That PISSES me off.”
That $6,000 cushion is exactly what lets them blow $3,600 a year eating out.
Taxpayers cover the groceries so they can hit the restaurants.
Hammer was so disgusted he stopped talking to them and started ranting under his breath, while the couple sat frozen in stunned silence.
Maybe everyone gaming the system should have to sit across from a taxpayer and explain themselves.
Something tells me the look on Hammer’s face will haunt them the next time they eat out.

THIS IS HUGE 🚨
This is why 97% of renewals are approved. They are auto green lit once approved once. A 3 year temp visa turns into an indefinite stay.
Renewals are near all time highs. If finalized, this could be the most impactful change this administration has made yet.
DHS plans to axe a policy deferring to prior approval for H-1B workers when employers file extension requests.

People. **People**.
Here’s the deal. I’ve said it before. I’ll surely say it again.
The communist party of China is a fascist, totalitarian, technology-infused communist dictatorship.
Any technology you buy from them. Any technology you sell to them. Will be used against you.
Norwegian soldiers discovered that Chinese-owned Volvo rental cars recorded and stored videos during a major military exercise in Oslo from September 14–18.
The footage captured soldiers entering and leaving vehicles, their movements, locations and even security codes used to access restricted areas.
Despite the discovery, the military continued using the cars due to a lack of alternatives.

In some ways it feels like piling on to re-post this — since we (and others) started this chant years ago.
But it’s worth a look to remind us of the traction these complaints have gained, and how the image problems created by “corporate run” #LasVegas are not going away.
VEGAS WANTS TO KNOW WHERE EVERYBODY WENT. I HAVE THE RECEIPT FROM MY LAST BUFFET.
Downtown Las Vegas is looking a little lonely. The numbers back it up. Visitation was down 4.3% in August. Passengers through Harry Reid down 9%. Downtown gaming win down 3%. They're cutting room rates and the rooms still aren't filling.
And somewhere in a corporate office on the Strip, a man in a $4,000 suit is asking how this could possibly happen.
Sir. Let me help.
Vegas used to be the deal. Sinatra, Dean and Sammy at the Sands. A 99-cent shrimp cocktail downtown at the Golden Gate. Cheap rooms, cheap buffets, loose slots, free drinks if you sat down at a table. They knew you'd lose money at the tables, so they made everything else feel like a steal. That was the whole business model. And it worked for fifty years.
Then the MBAs showed up. (I'm allowed to say that. I have one.)
Room rates went up. Then they added a resort fee. Fifty bucks a night for a pool you won't use and Wi-Fi that drops every time you open your laptop. Parking that used to be free? Now it's not. Blackjack used to pay 3:2. Now a lot of tables pay 6:5, which is a polite way of saying they shaved your winnings and hoped you wouldn't do the math. And the buffet. The buffet used to be the cheapest meal in America. Now the fancy ones on the Strip run close to $90 a person on a weekend, and the crab legs still taste like the freezer.
Who thought that money train would run forever? You squeezed the golden goose until it filed for divorce.
Vegas casino bosses have pulled off something I didn't think was possible. They made McDonald's leadership look like value heroes. At least the Big Mac doesn't come with a resort fee.
I still end up in Vegas once a year for work. I didn't say I like it.
I hate the room rates. I don't eat on the Strip. Get in an Uber, go to Spring Mountain Road, and eat your way through Chinatown. Some of the best Asian food in the country is sitting in strip malls a mile from the casinos, at a third of the price. The locals know. Now you do too.
And the desert is still a desert. It's hot, it's dry, my hair hates it, and the whole place still looks like a showgirl's jewelry box exploded.
There's exactly one thing on the Strip I'd fight you for.
The Peppermill. Neon, mirrors, velvet booths, plates the size of hubcaps and a drink so big it needs two straws and a designated driver. I go every single year. I order too much, I share it with my coworkers or my customers, and we pass that giant drink around like it's 1978.
That's my Vegas.
You can keep the rest of it.

When you import refugees you import every future generation of their family. You import entire societies, cultures and tribes. Every condition in Somalia is now being recreated in Minnesota.
Federal sources reportedly stated that the parents of Sheikhdoon Abdullahi Mohamud, the 18-year-old arrested by the FBI on accusations of plotting an ISIS-inspired mass shooting at Minnesota’s Mall of America, were Somali nationals who arrived in New York in 2000. His mother became a U.S. citizen in 2010 and his father in 2017. Their initial immigration status remains unclear.
Mohamud was born in the United States in 2008 and acquired citizenship at birth, before either parent was naturalized. According to the Justice Department, his parents refused to speak with FBI agents who attempted to contact the family last year after initial signs of potential radicalization emerged.
