We need energy independence and to break from fossil fuels. We need far more renewables and to seriously look to nuclear as our backup source. Enough is enough both environmentally and economically.

The saddest celebrity death of life. Star Trek TNG was such a formative programme of my childhood. Picard was a scholarly diplomatic scientist. Stewart, a wonderful thespian and mental health advocate. He leaves a wonderful, inspiring legacy. #makeitso

The bots descending on this are hilariously predictable. Especially ones harping on about Irish troops getting conscripted into EU wars. Your periodic reminder that Google is still free and makes a complete laugh out of the "EU war mongering" hysteria! Literally never happened.
👉 No other country in the world gives Trump 🇺🇸, Putin 🇷🇺 and Xi 🇨🇳 a veto over their own foreign policy. The Irish 'Triple Lock' is the opposite of national sovereignty. The world has drastically changed. Irish military neutrality remains steadfast but must adapt. .@sinnfeinireland seem to want Irish soldiers confined to their barracks. No young person wants to join such an army. Irish peacekeepers have a proud record around the world and are now needed more than ever. I welcome today's reform by the Irish parliament 🇮🇪.

To witness this goal alone was worth a decade of season tickets! What a player. What skill. What composure. Still just 24! – at Dublin City, Ireland

Safe to say this experience of American Football has me really thinking.... why don't they just watch rugby?! The stoppages in this are criminal. Americans would love the action and dynamic play of rugby. This is a snore-fest! #aerlingusclassic #tcu – at Dublin City, Ireland

With @AstonVilla on the lookout for a new centre half and @obrienjake_ looking to leave Everton, surely having another Irish man playing in the UCL would be a match made in heaven!? – at Dublin City, Ireland

Letter in the @IrishTimes today outlining the reasons we need to seriously consider the nuclear option for Ireland. We have the proven ability and ambition both in the past and in more recent times that tell us we can deliver projects of this scale. irishtimes.com/opinion/lette…

Housing Minister @JamesBrowneTD should really call out this fake reporting. The report says, per table from it below, that almost all properties achievable by said hypothetical couple. And that is without applying the Help To Buy scheme at all in the below @SCSISurveyors figures.
A couple on a combined gross salary of €113,000 who want to buy a new, privately-built three-bedroom semi-detached home are priced out of Dublin's commuter belt, according to a report by the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland jrnl.ie/7115186

Proof that data centres are using feic all water here. Roughly 0.3% of the overall water usage of the state. For context, Uisce Éireann's average daily output in the country is 1.7bn litres. So all data centres in Ireland use roughly a half a day's output over a full year!

Officials in this game be like: "The New Zealand player does take out a gun and shoots the Irish attacker dead, but on review with the TMO it appears it's only a 9mm and as such, it remains only a penalty". #NZvIRE – at Dublin City, Ireland

Kiwis deserved the win. However, the officials really made it easy for them and denied us a BP as a result. Woeful doesn't cover it. Apparently jackling is fully illegal if you wear green now?!?! 🤔 – at Dublin City, Ireland

Devastating but every Clare person is very proud of that performance and of the team and management. They gave their last drop. You couldn't ask for more

@MeteorsDunsink or @AstronomyIRL, @AstroObIreland might be able to verify if my times are correct on all the above. Almost 62° further west than Dublin and La Paz sunset is only minutes later today. – at Dublin City, Ireland
