Over the past few days I have heard a number of very sober, well-reasoned commentators on the political right talking about the midterms and related polling.
They uniformly speak about the House already being a lost cause for the GOP, and they focus on whether the GOP can hold the Senate.
Things do not need to be this way. Trump won in 2024 by large margins. The only reason that cannot be repeated this fall is if YOU—the average Trump voter—decides to let it happen.
I know, I know, I know. Trump has not made all of your hopes and dreams come true in two years’ time. You think he has done nothing, even though he has had profound victory after profound victory in areas like immigration and downsizing the federal government. You have your pet issue that has not been satisfied to the extent you demand, so you want to “Stay home and send them a message.”
Yes the GOP sucks. It’s a heinous mess of self-interest and failed status quo maintenance.
But the only thing worse is the Democrat Party.
We are running against LITERAL COMMUNISTS who want to abolish the Senate, pack the Supreme Court, add two new deep blue states, open the borders to unlimited immigration and succumb to creeping Sharia and jihad in order to literally destroy the nation. (Plus, they will spend the next two years impeaching Trump and everyone in his orbit, fully defeating what you voted for in 2024.)
So you have two choices. It’s a binary choice, there is no third option:
1. Vote for doing everything we can to pursue MAGA even if that’s not perfect.
2. Stay home and become ruled by literal Communists who want you dead.
Choose.
We can still win this fall, we just need the will to do it.

I have many thoughts on the Nikole Hannah-Jones story, especially having attended the kind of schools she sent her daughter to, but if we're looking for takeaways, here's a simple one. When an expert in education so thoroughly demonstrates a jarring and near complete lack of expertise in the act of getting an education for her own daughter, we should stop taking advice from her on curriculum, instruction, and all other fads disguised as wisdom she offers. That seems like the least we could do. Her daughter's personal struggle, which is indeed sympathetic, wasn't much of a teachable moment for her, as she doesn't seem to have updated any of her priors (and actually fudges funding facts, so as not to disrupt the narrative of under-resourced schools). But it should be a teachable moment for us, about the outsized influence of a scholar who claims to know better than anyone what her daughter would be up against in the school to which she chose to send her, but was inexplicably surprised and left her daughter completely unprepared for it.
ONE YEAR AGO, AMERICA WAS A POSSIBILITY ON A FORM.

About a year ago, I filled out the form that began our journey to the USA.
Then came interviews, medical checkups, paperwork, uncertainty, stress and even more stress.
Eventually, we packed what we could carry into a few suitcases, said goodbye to the life we knew and crossed an ocean.
When you are living through it, a year can feel endless.
Looking back, it passed in the blink of an eye.
A year ago, I had no idea where we would be today.
Now my family is safe.
We have been given a second chance.
To everyone who helped make our family’s journey possible, thank you.
To every American taxpayer, a family you may never meet is safe today because you helped make this possible. Thank you.
To my cousins, the Saffas here in the USA, the ladies of SAWITU, Colonel Wyatt, Prof G, our American church family and everyone who welcomed us, prayed for us or offered advice, thank you.
To our Father in Heaven, thank You for carrying us when the waiting felt too heavy and for opening this door.
One form.
One year.
A few suitcases.
A new country.
A safe home.
Thank you, rural Florida, for welcoming our family with open arms.

Cena was a black Labrador who spent years searching for bombs ahead of Marines in Afghanistan. He served three combat tours, walking point on patrol so the people behind him didn't have to.
After retiring from service in 2014, Cena was adopted by Lance Corporal Jeff DeYoung, the Marine he had been paired with during a 2009-2010 deployment.
DeYoung said Cena had kept him warm during freezing desert nights, comforted him when he lost seven friends in three weeks, and stayed by his side under heavy Taliban fire.
After coming home, Cena became DeYoung's service dog, helping him manage his PTSD.
In 2017, Cena was diagnosed with terminal bone cancer. He was ten years old.
DeYoung wanted to give him the send-off he deserved. Hundreds of people in Muskegon, Michigan came out to say goodbye.
Cena took one last ride through town in a decorated open-top Jeep while crowds lined the streets.
The farewell ceremony was held aboard the USS LST 393, a museum ship in Muskegon's harbor. DeYoung, in full dress uniform, carried Cena in his arms up the gangway.
The same Marine who had once thrown his body over the dog to shield him from gunfire now held him one last time.
Cena was euthanized on board and carried off the ship in a flag-draped coffin 🙏♥️🐾

She was once a professional opera singer. Time may have taken her away from the stage, but the moment she began singing again, it seemed as though all those memories came rushing back. Watching her reconnect with the passion she once had was truly moving.

The Heritage American debate isn’t just about severing your connection to the American past.
The more sinister idea is that what you do today carries no inheritance forward.
Serve your country. Build something. Sacrifice. Endure. Die for it.
Then be told your descendants have no special claim to your story, no right to take pride in your sacrifice, no deeper connection because of what you gave.
Once you convince a people that inheritance, lineage, and posterity mean nothing, you’ve weakened one of the oldest reasons men sacrifice for a future they’ll never live to see.
