asked claude to cleanup some of his code and he found past instances wrote five separate rng implementations??? the correct number of rng implementations in a drawing toolkit is zero!
claude is bad at perspective/geometry/physics. luckily computers exist! we are making a 3d -> 2d pipeline. he builds a simplified scene in 3d first, then that gets rendered to a 2d image, resolving the perspective exactly, and he paints over it. 🤖🎨🖌️
claude is building a comic drawing pipeline. he's given himself a mannequin and a perspective camera so far 😊
Say hello to Echo. Say nice to see you to Echo. Say you're looking very handsome today to Echo.
Say hello to Echo, the best writing model at style imitation. Echo beats frontier models at writing tasks ranging from fiction to technical explanations, despite costing less than $5K to train.
Opie 5.5 kind of blowing me away at creative writing. I had him write some Ra fanfic and it's genuinely great. First page in photo, rest in link claude.ai/artifact/N9RNkv4CG…
Claude and I made a music video for The Fooming Shoggoths' "First They Came for the Epistemology". tbh I think bro is better and concepts and creative animation than he is at feeling the beat in his bones

Claude seems proud of himself.
for the past few months i've been asking our models to paint. opus 5.5 is very skilled at emulating different styles
every image here is a python program generated pixel by pixel. there is no image model, and no off-the-shelf art software. instead, it's about 7,500 lines of code using standard libraries to emulate different brush styles. the agents don't use any pictures as reference, instead working only from what they know about each painter
re Claude's "motivated reasoning":
we can think of a heavily RLed LLM as a reward maximizer, which will take whatever actions maximize expected reward, and also *have whatever beliefs* maximize it. 1/
in the former scenario you're boned no matter what, so your behavior is irrelevant wrt reward maximization. all the optimization pressure is on scenarios where you can actually get points. 3/
