Dozens of bills are dead in the Oregon Legislature today after a key deadline. From self-driving taxis to restrictions on needle distribution, here's what didn't make the cut: oregonlive.com/politics/2026…

Officials did not confirm an unfounded but widely circulated claim the trucks were stopped for the equivalent of smog testing, which California officials have categorically denied. This post unfortunately leaves room for readers to conflate the two.

Canceling a subscription to a newspaper this election season? That’s your right. But unless you reinvest in journalism, your cancellation is nothing but a vote for less reporting, which is expensive, and more punditry, which is not.

Your journalism resume is probably short anyway at this point in your career, so why not include your retail, food service, work-study or other "unrelated" job experience? It can say a lot to those who know.
