Need a way to solve this? If you’re interested in how other #designOps professionals manage @figma and this issue, there’s an ongoing discussion in @DesOpsAssembly. Please DM me too. I can share my process.

To upgrade to the Enterprise tier in @figma nearly doubles our yearly budget - just to lock down editor upgrades like other tools. #designOps

Unless #UX teams upgrade to the next tier (Enterprise) in @figma, #designOps professionals need to create elaborate systems to monitor “self-upgrades” and avoid overages.

What’s the issue? It’s how @figma makes it easy for users to upgrade viewers to editors. Teams that budget for a certain amount of users must constantly monitor for new users that have upgraded themselves. #designops

It’s budget time for teams. And in #designops we need to look at the number of licenses we need for certain tools like @figma. If you are a UX Manager or do anything with operations and have Figma, then you should be aware of the tool’s access issues.

Appreciate all of the hard work the volunteers at @UXYall put into making a great experience for the #UX community in #Raleigh. Lessons from helping to build UX practices at multiple companies. It all started from crying in Alaska.
Before you begin, observe and question: Listen for resistance like “We don’t have time for research, testing, or fixing this problem.” From there, educate, advocate, and innovate! @engmatthew @ibm @ibmdesign

Thanks @egburnam for sharing. And thank you @UXYall for giving me the opportunities to bring these experiences to Raleigh. #UX #UXdesign #designOps

Thought provoking conversation about #DesignSystem and how it should address the product —> portfolio —> company —>… and then we got the subject of addressing regional sensibilities. #Asia. #Japan and then lingscars.com/ came up as an example of visual brain freeze.
At the beginning of my next 30 days of #onboarding as the #DesignOps manager for @resmed. I presented back to my team about who I am, what Ops is, and what to expect from me.

I feel this is crucial for anyone #onboarding to a new team. It helps fill in gaps as to what their assumptions are and clarifies expectations #ux #designOps
End of week 4 #onboarding as my teams new (and first) #designOps manager. Here’s one of the tools that I have adopted to help me make sense of all the information I am absorbing. #ux #Notebooks

My lesson(s) from the last time I onboarded to a new role was that I needed something I can easily go back to and remind myself of a conversation, idea, or reference. #Notebooks are a great, under celebrated tool. #UX #onboarding #designOps
Week 4 of my onboarding as a #designOps manager for my #UX. Today, I found a key partner on the Technical Program Manager side.

Allies in #designOps are crucial. A lot of my work is to help with #UX integration such as getting our work visible and shareable with our #product teams.

Today I had an exciting conversation with a Sr. Technical Program Manager. We immediate learned where we can help each other on the planning and tracking side of #jira by pulling in #UX teams that are ready to integrate their issues on product boards.
Week 3 - Day 13 - I’m on my first All Hands for our Product Org. Here’s what I expected… 1. Slides on how we’re winning at something 2. Areas where the business strategy is going 3. Opportunities for improvement #UX #designOps #productmanagement
2
In all of my years in the industry these are firsts! 1. We emphasized mental health on an All Hands 2. A VP talked about how hard it was to intentionally do research and avoid injecting bias 3. She also advocated for proper training from #UX and #uxresearch #designOps
Here is actually what happened. 1. We shared what we were grateful for 2. The VP of Product introduced an upcoming training on how to run a moderated user/customer research session 3. THEN… we started talking about our goals #UX #designOps #productmanagement #productmanager
Week 3 - Day 11: To date I have met a handful of UXers who are NOT new to the team. This means most of the team including its leadership have been at the company for less than a year. #designOps #ux #onboarding
2
It was an interesting conversation into how the company shifted its business focus and where #ux became a priority for them.
4 out of 11 UXers have more than 1 year experience with the company. I met someone today with 5+ at the company before it decided to build out #ux
