And yet there are nine states which have at least one county or township which has temporarily or permanently banned wind and solar development. So while you are taking victory laps for PTC extensions and trying to get permitting reform, developers cannot actually build projects.

Well, @IntelStor subscribers know about the profitability challenge faced by many #windenergy asset owners in the USA for example. The interconnection queue is so long that some power producers were forced to take PPAs with power marketers that were sub $12/MWhr.

Analysis of global public sector investment by @IntelStor shows overall investment in #renewableenergy is dwindling and money that would have been spent on renewable energy was diverted in 2020 to COVID-19 response. More can be reallocated if governments have the will to do it.

Because we definitely do not have enough industry trade groups already & are in desperate need of yet another one. 🤦‍♂️ This will divert money & attention away from worthy research & further undercut industry efforts to help investors make informed decisions based on accurate data.

fulfillment of the power purchase contract is not met until the wind park is fully commissioned and supplying power. The latter method is used by most other analyst firms including @IntelStor, which has a global database of more than 484,000 onshore and offshore wind turbines.

the wind turbine OEMs because they complete their contractual obligations to secure the bulk of their payment for turbine/component supply if they can mechanically install, even if there is no grid availability for power offtake. Philosophically this is incorrect, since...

GWEC tracks and reports "mechanical installation" of wind turbines to develop their numbers. This is due to a legacy decision from their research personnel from his time working for BTM Consult, Navigant & FTI Consulting prior to GWEC. This method of tracking is biased towards...

The government provided a dispensation to the developers who were already under construction due to the expiration of the federal feed in tariff at the end of last year. The government did the same thing for inshore wind when the federal feed in tariff expired at the end of 2020.

FYI, this chart comprises incorrect information from GWEC. China did not fully install and energize 17GW in 2021, as they claim. China installed and grid connected 13.2GW in 2021 with the remainder achieving commercial operations in the first 6 months of 2022.
