Citrus fruits come in a huge array of sizes and shapes and are intrinsically connected to human health and culture. Modelling fruit shape and oil gland distribution can provide insights into fruit development and domestication 🍋 📖 ow.ly/NLkP50KUxwh @wileyfoodsci

Dr. Quigley (@endless_ct) and the plant CT group continue to generate amazing videos! They use this 3D data to study the topology of plants . Consider joining their group as a PhD student (cmse.msu.edu/apply) or a postdoc (cmse.msu.edu/directory/facul…) #JoinCMSE
This corn was harvested a 1000 years ago. A lot of degradation happened during that time, but a few kernels look pretty good.

Great CT scan by @EndlessForms of #cynipid #oak #gall. Wasp in center chamber. A lot like one from Miocene! What plant genes does the insect manipulate to get this morphology? See insect, legs, eyes, in second scan. Beautiful! Live photo: @MelanieJABody
