At the KOGS @ 50 Congress, this painful reality took center stage in a powerful Citizen TV feature by Emily Chebet, highlighting the urgent need for bold, practical solutions.
Behind every statistic is a family left grieving, children left without caregivers, and communities forced to rebuild after avoidable loss.
But there is hope.
Experts at the Congress emphasized that innovation — including artificial intelligence at the primary healthcare level — alongside strengthening Maternal and Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response (MPDSR), could transform how we detect risks, respond to emergencies, and prevent future tragedies.
The message was clear:
We must move from knowing the problem to implementing the solutions.
At KOGS @ 50, the commitment remains unwavering — to combine evidence, innovation, and accountability to ensure that no mother dies from preventable causes.
Watch the full feature on Citizen TV and join the call to action.
