Eeekkk! How exciting!! Check out all these cool new books coming out from @aasl and @ALALibrary!! Including the super cute #MangaGTS! 🥳🤘🏻 @mangalibrarian @BespokeLib @St_741 @emratica
Best part of #SDCC24 was meeting INCREDIBLE authors & creators! All were gracious enough to sign my bag - a great memory! Thanks to @johnbgallagher @GailSimone @JIJennings @naominovik @NicolaYoon @marikotamaki @JonathanMaberry @WriteinBK @davidbooher @NikkiPayneBooks 📚
Great manga coming from @UdonEnt this year: King Lear & Sherlock Holmes (which looks AMAZING) from Manga Classics & then more new biographies will follow the Charles Shultz title that comes out in October, including Amelia Earhart, & Momofuku Ando (creator of Instant Noodles)!
So excited to be at a panel at #SDCC24 where @goraina and @scottmccloud are discussing their new book “The Cartoonist Club”! Telegemeier describes the book as a mix between her website’s FAQ page and the “Do-Re-Me” song from The Sound of Music. 😂😂

This was a great session! I really needed to hear that one simple tip (permission) to focus on getting multiple copies of the first 3-5 books instead of 1 copy of all 50 titles in a series. 😂

Last panel of #ALAAC24 and 1st #MangaGTS talk done! Thanks to everyone who came to our session! We started with an anime OP dance party, gave rapid-fire info from the book, & encouraged pre-orders. We’ll see you all @ next talk @ #AASL25!

Hearing @lizzo play some of the Library's priceless antique instruments on Monday was such a gift, and we were honored and happy to help her share that gift with her concert audience Tuesday night. Here is some more behind-the-scenes footage of her Library tour. #LizzoAtLOC

Thank you @sljournal for this important survey on the impacts of this year on practicing librarians. Paints a better picture of this moment in time. #mustread schoollibraryjournal.com/sto…
As a solo librarian @ a HS w/3000 Ss, I’ve fought hard to not be saddled w/Chromebooks but I feel like the inevitable is about to happen. Am I crazy to fight it? Or should I just let it happen? Is this what my career will be now? 90% text/Chromebooks & 10% actual library work? – at Victorville, CA

One librarian has had enough of the ‘false narrative’ that libraries are serving porn to kids via books with LGBTQ themes. She’s fighting back in court. nbcnews.to/3pkqtKR
Yes! Love doing this - students think it is SO COOL and I feel better because I can upcycle manga that has been destroyed! And, the best part? It takes VERY LITTLE work and supervision on my part! 😂 – at Victorville, CA
Replying to @KatieJMcNamara @awakenlibrarian
I stole @emratica’s idea of using spent manga as bookmarks. I have some that are laminated and a bunch that aren’t, and some of my students like coloring them. I’ve also done big coloring pages from iconic magazine scenes (copied, blown up on my copier).
