Jan. 1 birthday club member Niman Ali Ahmed, residing in south Minneapolis, is being held on $1 million bail after being charged last week with felony threats of violence.
Charges say police responded to a bomb threat wherein Ahmed said he made several bombs and was going to bomb Mall of America and schools in Minneapolis. Ahmed said the plot was vengeance for the death of George Floyd.
Ahmed also said he was going to travel to DC and a**assinate Trump.
Ahmed said the US has been his enemy since he was a child and claimed to be part of a group that was going to carry out terrorists attacks.
The 911 call was traced to Ahmed's residence on E 22nd St.
A search warrant was executed, and electronics were found but no explosives.

Arrest made in Hwy 100 shooting on Sept. 30
On Oct. 13, 2026, at approximately 5:40 a.m., the St. Louis Park Police Department, with assistance from the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, executed a search warrant in the 11300 block of Johnson Street NE in Blaine, Minn. The warrant was executed in connection with the Sept. 30, 2026, shooting that occurred along Highway 100 South in St. Louis Park.
During the Oct. 13 operation, Abdisalan Muhumed Ali (DOB: April 10, 2007) was arrested on probable cause second-degree assault. This case remains an active and ongoing investigation of the St. Louis Park Police Department.
“Our police officers and investigative teams have worked tirelessly to find the individuals accountable for bringing violence into our community,” said St. Louis Park Police Chief Bryan Kruelle. “We will continue to work closely with our regional law enforcement partners as we investigate and respond to incidents impacting all of us, without stigmatizing any group of people.”
The St. Louis Park Police Department recognizes the public’s interest in this case. However, to avoid compromising potential evidentiary leads or investigative efforts, no additional information will be released at this time. The department appreciates the public’s understanding and cooperation as investigators continue their work.
