Our session ended with a Q&A with Emma and Mia, which covered everything from what to do when you need to sneeze on the podium, to how to look confident even if you don’t feel it.
🙏 Thank you to @RoyalAcadMusic for supporting this workshop through Emma’s Meaker Fellowship.

We spent a lovely morning at Burntwood School earlier this month, leading a conducting workshop for the girls in their choir.
It was amazing to see 8 girls try conducting for the very first time! 😍

Without this programme, I doubt I’d have been offered my place on my Masters. I’d highly recommend.
The (somewhat laughable) comment response to this post is just one example of why it is still, wholly, necessary.
Considering a Master’s in orchestral conducting? 🎼
Our Glover-Edwards #Conducting Programme is aimed at women conductors to bridge the gap between undergraduate and postgraduate study.

Thinking back to our @BBCSingers choral conducting masterclass at @RoyalAcadMusic on Monday, and wanted to post the whole interview with @emmaconductor. It's incredibly rewarding to play a part in bringing up the next generation of talent.

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to sing for a few thousand primary school children with @BBCSingers . Everywhere we went, we were asked the same question by the kids: how do I get to be a bbc singer. Today’s answer from the #BBC is: you can’t.
Taking away a flagship ensemble like @BBCSingers only takes away access to classical music. It is policies and attitudes like this that will make classical music elitist, as only wealthy hobbyists will be able to participate once the infrastructure has been dismantled.
