In 2015 scientists in Oxford tested 2,039 people. Only people whose 4 grandparents were all born within 50 miles of each other. So the map they drew wasn't Britain today. It was Britain in 1885. Before anyone moved.

Case 1: Geoff Ghose, University of Minnesota.
📍 For years, Ghose cut into the skulls of rhesus macaques.
📍 He bolted metal headposts to their heads. Implanted recording chambers over openings in their brains. The devices failed. Again. And again. And again.
📍 A monkey named Bilbo had his brain exposed for days after a device fell off. A metal rod jammed into his eye. He kept it closed for 40 hours.
📍 A monkey named Samwise had a two-thirds-inch opening left in his skull when his headpost detached during an experiment.
📍 A monkey named Everett had 20 screws drilled so deep they pierced his brain. He was lethargic. His arm was weak. He pressed his head against the cage bars again and again-a sign of crushing headache. He suffered for months before he was killed.
The USDA found violations: surgeries lasting over twice as long as approved, inadequate pain relief, failure to monitor animals after surgery, dirty implants.
The university issued a letter of reprimand. They suspended his animal protocols. They said he "no longer works with nonhuman primates"
But he still works at the university. He still teaches. His salary is $189,928.
No felony charges. No jail time. No 12.5 years.
