Hello, I am the Creative Director and Founder of @Asobiar.
As you have all likely heard the recent news about Evening Star, Our account was the first to post this on social media picked it up from IcyPenguin28
To be honest, we were among the last to hear about it, as several people within the industry had known for some time. However, we simply added our own research to the mix
According to our findings, a number of people including indie developers close to the developer had indeed heard this news a while back. I suspect they may have heard it from a single source, though this is merely a suspicion and not something I can confirm.
It also appears that the project
is under extreme secrecy
Some individuals close to one of the developers were completely unaware that he had traveled to Japan in 2025 something they would typically be in the loop about.
This marks the first time the Managing Director has traveled to Japan for work.
Furthermore, it seems the former Creative Director of Ape Escape is still working with Sony's R&D team. I discovered this a while ago, though someone recently mentioned it on ResetEra as well.
It appears that many indie developers have reached out to Sony regarding a potential
revival of Ape Escape However, it is most likely Evening Star who approached Sony we have seen indications of this. I believe these kinds of pitches happen often in the industry; we saw a similar situation with Remedy's proposal to Rockstar.
To be clear, I am simply a researcher and do not leak information. While this research sometimes proves accurate, I cannot say I am 100% certain about these details just yet. I am still awaiting further confirmation.
I want to thank you all for your interest and support.
On our team, we are currently working on a fan manga for Astro Bot set within the Ape Escape universe, where the lore of Ape Escape plays a central role in the story. The goal of this project is to help promote Astro Bot, particularly in Japan, while also bringing attention back to Ape Escape, alongside more simplified artwork.
Our goal is always to support the developers behind the series we love
