Being suicidal isn’t always actively making plans to end your life. Sometimes it’s not wearing your seatbelt and hoping the car crashes or crossing the road without looking and hoping you get hit by a car or eating out of date food hoping food poisoning will kill you

Andy spent this morning with Sophie & Anne from the Headlight Project helping deliver suicide awareness training to Y10, Y11 & 6th formers at @Arete_Stokesley
These are exactly the the sort of sessions we have asked the @educationgovuk to add to the school curriculum

You don’t need a 2024 highlight reel to be proud of yourself 💚
The small wins – like getting out of bed on a tough day, or opening up – matter just as much.
They’re proof of your resilience and worth celebrating. Share a 2024 win below 👇 We’re proud of every little victory.

If you’ve had suicidal thoughts this year, if you’ve felt like you would be better off dead than alive, if you’ve been close to the edge I just want you to know that you so close to completing 2024. I am so happy you are alive ❤️

Good news for a Friday 👏🏼
With some amazing coauthors this paper goes from the stigmata of Christ to contemporary issues of epistemic justice in mental health research via Hegel, Hildegard and hermeneutics - all of the faves 😂
Watch this space - will share!

I think many patients with severe eating disorders need daily contact from treatment teams, including in the context of their home environments. And not just for a few weeks.

In the UK someone dies by suicide every 90 minutes, but it doesn’t have to be this way.
Talking saves lives.
