I love @gfletchy's ability to break down topics like fractions in such an intuitive way. Watch & share with others. gfletchy.com/2016/12/08/the-… #iteachmath

We carry too much guilt about letting others down—and too little fear of letting ourselves down.
We don't fully control whether we live up to others' expectations. We do decide whether we meet our own.
The most important commitments to uphold are the ones you make to yourself.

If you wait until you feel ready to take on a new challenge, you might never pursue it at all.
Few people wake up suddenly feeling prepared to lead or create. They become prepared by taking the leap anyway.
Our greatest regrets are not our failures, but our failures to try.

The "those who can't, teach" crowd is now realizing that teachers can pretty much learn any skill and adapt to most other jobs very easily, and businesses and companies are fighting to recruit former teachers.
So it seems like those who teach can do pretty much anything.

Dear Parents/Guardians,
Ask your child's teachers how many students are in their class. Ask your child's counselor (if they have one) how many students they are responsible for.
If those numbers seem high (which it probably will), attend board meetings and speak out.

There's a nurse shortage...let's lower the qualifications.
There's an engineering shortage...let's lower the qualifications.
There's a pilot shortage...let's lower the qualifications.
If this sounds illogical, how does it make sense for teachers?

When teachers say that leaving teaching is “the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do”— believe them, because it is.
Why? Because when a teacher quits or resigns— you may see it as someone leaving a job, but we see it as letting down our students and their families.

Them: We don't trust teachers. Put a camera in every classroom. Academic freedom is not a right.
Also Them: Trust teachers with a firearm. Put a gun in every classroom. The freedom to bear arms must be protected at all costs.
Also, Also Them: There is no money for books.
We love our foster Guinea pig, Skippy. Thank you @CMHSPets for trusting us with him! He is loving all the cuddles!

Now I’m curious:
Teachers, RT this if you have been called “mom” by students🤔❤️
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there, and to all of the teachers who are accidentally called “mom” by their students.

Thank you @SmithJenif for recommending Would You Rather? Math! We had fun with this question which provided us a nice bridge between single-digit and multi-digit multiplication
Last week’s 3-act task from @gfletchy was perfect for flexing our multiplication muscles! #cpsmathjoy
Yesterday we enjoyed Zooming with @gregtangmath and learning ways to represent comparison problems. Today we practiced with another example, and Ss wrote their own to challenge one another! #cpsmathjoy
LOTS of math happening with this awesome problem borrowed from @MrsDaugherty4th (thank you!!). Ss rose to the challenge and discovered many solutions!
