Do we know anyone here in #surrey or #sussex with a mobile coffee truck who is available to join us and 5,000 people in #Reigate on Sept 17 to help with something? Thanks! ☕️

I'm still confused.
So @AnglianWater's new sewage plant in @camcitco is being built using taxpayers' money, £227m from govt's Housing Infrastructure Fund, and the Head of Major Infrastructure Planning at AW is married to the SoS for Health and Social Care.
Is that right?
So the £277m needed to build the new @camcitco sewage works is being funded by taxpayers, not @AnglianWater's shareholders, but the company will own the plant & therefore the asset value with the old works sold for development & AW keeping the cash from the sale.
That right?🤔

So while @AnglianWater's new sewage plant in @camcitco is being built using £227m of taxpayers' money remember that AW has paid out £4.6bn in dividends to shareholders.
Are shareholders even putting as much as a £0.01 into the new sewage works?

"Britain’s world championship triathletes cannot train in Irish Sea due to pollution."
Yep, not only has Blackpool had to close 8 beaches, 14 miles of coastline, now not even Britian's triathletes can escape the sewage laden clutches of @unitedutilities.

"United Utilities confirm sewage discharges on three Merseyside beaches."
Just 2 months ago @unitedutilities paid £300 million in dividends to shareholders. Perhaps a little bit more of that money should have been spent on their sewage system.

Deary me! Not 40 minutes ago @YorkshireWater were claiming they had "not paid dividends to shareholders for the last seven years". Really.
No doubt they'd like to put the record straight.

"Thames Water ordered to tackle sewage smell."
Ah, so at least one local council is beginning to realise they have all kinds of public nuisance enforcement powers over water companies.
Well done @Surreyheath. 👏👏👏 Who's next?

Not paid any dividends to shareholders?
Perhaps you'd care to explain this line item, page 137, your annual accounts "Dividends £62,337,000", in 2023, £52.6m in 2022?
Really!
@Pink18787
We have not paid dividends to shareholders for the last seven years. We’re committed to improving our performance as we know a lot of our customers are disappointed with us. Part 1/2. -Megan
