In my 1st yr of grad school at @UMich, I went to Dr. Len Fisk's office and just asked if I could do some space science research. I was so clueless, but he was so welcoming and supportive and gave me a project to study the ☀️ (with @Dr_ThomasZ too!)
Excited to meet my mentor and colleague at @UMengineering, Dr. Len Fisk. Len was the head of science at @nasa at the late 80s. Len is retiring from the @UMich this summer.

The person who recommended that I reach out to Len Fisk was Gerry Soffen (project scientist of Mars Viking), who was one of my mentors during a NASA internship at Goddard in 1997. I'm very grateful to all of the above ✨

Here's a #NASA feature about our Pandora SmallSat! 🚀 We have a fantastic team that has already made great progress in the past 6 weeks. I can't emphasize enough the value of a diverse team, and early-career in science/tech leadership roles #PIDaily nasa.gov/feature/goddard/202…

Lazy critics argue about what @shannonmstirone has written simply because she has an art degree. I have one too. The space community could use more people with well-rounded backgrounds. Besides we (former) art majors tend to pay more attention to things that other people miss.

Early career leaders and future PIs from @NASASun, @NASAUniverse, @NASAEarth and @NASASolarSystem, consider signing up to this workshop. Also, pls follow #PI_Daily, a campaign by @ltelkins, @bethanyehlmann, @AlanStern, @RPappalardo, etc. to give real-time insights into #PILife
We want to broaden the pool of potential #NASAScience Principal Investigators (PIs) and include more diversity. If becoming a PI is interesting to you, please apply to attend the PI Launchpad Workshop. The application deadline is March 22 at 11:59pm ET: go.nasa.gov/2Ny501w

NASA Goddard intern Adam Friedman spent last summer classifying over 70 million stars using machine learning, his work produced some pretty stellar results! 🌌 Read more: go.nasa.gov/3rMbEzH

Dr. Monsue is a wonderful member of our @NASAGoddard exoplanet group. She is using her expertise in heliophysics to study M dwarf flare stars in unique ways, and paving a new interdisciplinary approach to understanding exoplanet habitability☀️🔥⭐️🌏
Today we are highlighting Dr. Teresa Monsue! Teresa received her undergraduate degree from @FloridaAtlantic and later her Ph.D. from @VanderbiltU. 1/7

Another project I’m really excited about ☀️🌍🌘
Astrophysicist Patricia Boyd and other researchers hope to send an experiment suite called EarthShine to the Moon to help determine the habitability of other planets by studying how our own might appear from far away: nasa.gov/sites/default/files…
