Every day, Israel commits some of the most obscene crimes humans are capable of committing.
Every day, our politicians maintain their unbending commitment to Israel.
Seriously, what does it take to make cheerleading Israel a matter of public disgrace?

I’d never seen so many decapitated bodies before. I’d never seen so many burnt bodies. I’d never seen so many children without limbs. I’d never seen so many dead bodies piled on top of each other.
Humanity failed Gaza.

These riots started in Parliament.
Rioters chant “stop the boats” and “we want our country back” - using language from politicians across the political spectrum.
It’s not enough to call out violence, politicians need to stop normalising hate. In policy and practice.

Today, The Guardian dedicates several pages to voices from the ground in Gaza.
I am very grateful to those who spoke to me, in impossible circumstances, from tents and pavements and street corners. All the interview are in print today.

Keir Starmer rightly denounces the killing of Ukrainian children by the Russian army as "the most depraved of actions."
He has said no such thing about Israel's mass slaughter of Palestinian children.
There's a word for this double standard. It is "racism".

We are often asked how can we help explain the Palestine cause in simple terms. Here it is in 1 minute: The heart of our issue is the cancellation of the Palestinian people, first by colonial Britain’s 1917 Balfour declaration, then by the Zionist movement and the creation of Israel after the ethnic cleansing of the Nakba, and third by US/western countries granting Israel veto power over the Palestinian people’s inalienable rights, including the right to self-determination and statehood. Thankyou to the Green Party & its co-leader @ZackPolanski for refusing to pander to Islamophobes & pro-Israel extremists who are intent on silencing not only Muslims but also progressive Jewish voices.
Other parties should take a leaf out of this principled approach to politics.

Today, President Biden dishonored the memories of our families killed in the Holocaust.
The enduring lesson of that tragedy is that Never Again must mean Never Again for Anyone.

Be realistic, demand the impossible.
Demand safety, sanctuary, equality, support, community and an end to the dehumanisation, the deportations and the profits extracted from suffering that are not shared.
Brilliant article @ZrileB @migrantsorg 🤩❤️❤️

American Nurse Emily Callahan is interviewed on @cnn @andersoncooper talking about her experience for 26 days in Gaza.
She lived through over 3 weeks of the bombardment by the IDF, and when asked if she would go back to Gaza to serve with/the Palestinians she responds "in a heartbeat, in an absolute heartbeat...my heart is in Gaza, it will stay in Gaza the Palestinian people I worked with were some of the most incredible people I've ever met...absolute heroes, if I could have a small amount of the courage they have I would die a happy person."
