BioWare once specialized in giving players consequential choices inside richly drawn worlds. The later turn toward prescribed moral conclusions and modern didactic language inverted that relationship. Agency became conditional. I played the roles of Anders & Cullen in the Dragon Age series and saw first hand the genesis of the companies self-immolation. The commercial result was predictable.
Six years ago: Lead producer on Dragon Age trolls me, one of the games lead voice actors - he was more focused on virtue signaling BioWare’s “values” (he couldn’t name them) on social media instead of doing his job.
The producer was fired soon thereafter. I chose not to reprise the role of Cullen in the next game.
What r the @bioware values @BioMarkDarrah ?
Don’t the loyal #Cullenties & @dragonage fans have a right to know? Don’t u have a responsibility to tell them?
Do u support cancel culture?
Do u support defamatory comments like this?
Careful how u answer ~ u might lose your job 🏴☠️
I turned my poem ‘Daughter of the Sun’ into a song ‘My Cardinal Rules’ & recorded it.
