This could become a very damaging dispute for a key trust. While it has to save money, the rates proposed are so low it is hard to see many docs accepting them: an F1 with a student loan would take home under £10 an hour for doing a shift on top of 48hrs normal working week.

If your spine/pelvis is genuinely "out of alignment", you need to be in hospital, not 'adjusted' by someone charging you a pretty penny.
Uh yeah unlike the patient I saw post chiropractic correction of his lumbar back pain recently.
Now with a new onset radiculopathy requiring an urgent microdisectomy and fusion by a neurosurgeon.
Or the numerous patients and young women with plain film AP/Lat views of their lumbar spine.
Zero of them informed that each view is an unnecessary 6 months equivalent dose of background radiation and never showing any pathology.
So chiropractors, physiotherapists and just about anyone lobbing referrals to orthopaedic clinics.
To think of how much of these I stop which are inappropriate with an incorrect diagnosis or simply missing the diagnosis like ankylosing spondylitis, well soon ‘scope of practice’ will mean not my job anymore and like every other drowning specialist, orthopaedics will also have to explain to patients with normal imaging, their spine is normally aligned, there is no pathology as they look out at the sea of patients and a fracture clinic busier and ramping as much as any ED wondering which patients have pathological orthopaedic problems amongst the wall of muscular back pains which shouldn’t have made it this far.
