Photographer Carina Letelier Baeza captured a breathtaking aurora that looked like a dragon flying across the Arctic sky, glowing in red and green. She took the photo at the Arctic Henge, a huge stone monument in one of Iceland’s northernmost villages. Built like a giant sundial, its arches line up with the sun’s path.

Super Typhoon Champi just exploded to a new peak intensity of 180 MPH (290 kph) and 902 MBAR east of the Philippines, becoming one of the most monstrous CATEGORY 5 Typhoons of the decade.
This is nearing the upper-edge of what our oceans can create. Not since Typhoon Mawar (2023) have we seen such a massive storm achieve winds this extreme.
