Why should banks be getting a free pass in the middle of a cost of living crisis?
The return on equity of the banks is greater than 10% or in excess of $40 billion despite being backed by the taxpayer whenever things get shaky.
If anyone can absorb the costs of credit cards it’s the banks.
It’s bad enough that Labor is ideologically flawed, but to know the impacts of these costs on small business and do nothing about it is unforgivable.

“Assistant Treasurer Daniel Mulino has conceded the government knew the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) was considering banning credit card payments in July, months before the decision was made public.
The ATO's decision in late September to stop accepting credit card payments from December 1 sparked backlash from the business community, which eventually forced an intervention from the prime minister and the treasurer to underwrite the costs and allow credit cards to be accepted by the tax office until mid-2027.
Mr Mulino today said he and Treasurer Jim Chalmers were first made aware of the ATO's intentions months ago.”

I came across this old comment I made a few years ago, and I thought you might be interested to know a little of our back story....
In early 2021 I started a Facebook group intended to share my early concerns about the rapid development of the mRNA Covid injectables.
I thought I might get 1000 followers. Instead our numbers swelled rapidly and within 9 months we had nearly 60,000 members (predominantly Kiwi) from around the world.
We posted Pharmacovigilance data from Medsafe, TGA, MHRA, VAERS etc. We shared new pre print and peer reviewed science. We offered people the opportunity to share their stories of harm and death of loved ones following the Pfizer mRNA (and others) in NZ.
I was mercilessly censored and repeatedly banned from posting.
A peer reviewed journal report on the efficacy of VITAMIN D for preventing infection, hospitalisation and death - ONE MONTH BAN.
My post saying.... "I think I am empirically observing a safety signal for Myocarditis" - ONE MONTH BAN.
My post saying.... "I think I am empirically observing a safety signal for menstrual disorders" - ONE MONTH BAN.
You get the picture.
Then mandates hit in NZ and we became a tight knit, safe and loving community supporting tens of thousands of deeply traumatised New Zealanders.
We had mandated out.
We had vaccine injured.
We had high quality posts grounded in fact, science and data.
ONE DAY I GOT UP AND WE GONE.
Removed. Disappeared. Absolutely NO TRACE of us ever having existed.
Thousands lost their safe space and their understanding community, at a time when the world and their friends, family and workplace had excommunicated them.
It's hard to over estimate the harm that resulted from our CENSORSHIP AND DISAPPEARANCE.

And how many people.
Now they are used state-funded media to coerce and hound people with 'empty bedrooms' to 'downsize' because Labor imported millions of people into this country.
And they want Australians - who sacrificed THEIR WHOLE LIVES TO SAVE FOR THEIR HOMES to just 'go away'.
There should be a severe punishment for the government for forcibly gathering private information and then using it against the people.

This involves removing all out-of-pocket costs for pregnant women in the public system, a contribution of $2,000 for those opting for private maternity care, and $300 per year for school-aged children towards sport.
We want to support Australians who want to have children and start a family. This involves removing the financial barriers that make having a family prohibitive for many. This package of support announced today for Victorian families is in addition to the One Nation Federal policy to introduce income tax splitting for families with dependent children.
This support will only be available to Australian citizens.
