In my head, Messi's final match went something like this. Argentina vs All Stars. Cristiano opened the scoring from the penalty spot, Cuti Romero equalised, and Mbappé made it 2–1 after a brilliant pass from Modrić. Scaloni wasn't going to let Leo's final match end like that. He went all in, with Julián and Lautaro up front. The gamble paid off as Enzo made it 2–2 after a brilliant team move. 75th minute. Messi slipped a perfect pass through to Julián, but Saliba brought him down just outside the box. Leo placed the ball. The Monumental was singing. Then, suddenly, silence. Left foot. Top corner. WHAT A GOAL!!! Messi sprinted towards the corner, leapt into the air with his fist raised and roared with pure emotion. The Monumental erupted. ARGENTINA 3–2 ALL STARS. The final match. THE PLAY A Cinematic Matchday. Sports Illustration · Graphic Design · Motion I’ve always considered the matchday graphic one of the most important pieces in sports communication. It has to build anticipation, express the team’s identity and communicate the essential information within seconds. That’s why I wanted to return to this format and approach it as a new creative challenge. The result is a new step into the visual world of the NFL and the @Jaguars , combining sports illustration, graphic design and motion in a short cinematic sequence. My work is often associated with football, although I’ve also worked across other sports including tennis, rugby and women’s football. A couple of years ago, I had the opportunity to create animations for the Kansas City Chiefs. Today, I’m returning to that direction with this piece, and I hope it can lead to future collaborations within the world of the @NFL If you like the piece, leave a like and help it travel a little further.
