It's not often someone I knew gets an obituary in The Guardian. I didn't know Ally as well as some folk but he always had time for a chat and a laugh any time I saw him in The Village, often while he enjoyed a generous Long Island iced tea. RIP. theguardian.com/society/2026…

After seeing the final trailer for Digger I'm still not sold on it. If the film is supposed to have an 'off' vibe then it looks like it's succeeding in spades. #Digger

Odd how Trump spells 'dumocrats' without a 'b', given that he keeps banging on about how not a lot of people know that there's a 'b' in dumb. Everyone knows how dumb is spelt. Trump himself only recently learnt this information and, for some reason, feels the need to evangelise.

I feel like Coyote vs. Acme is being targeted at a younger audience, which is odd because Gen X-ers want to see their favourite Looney Tunes characters from their youth back on the big screen. There are no screenings after 6 pm at my local cinema in the coming week. #CoyoteVsAcme
There are barely any screenings of Coyote vs. Acme at my local cinema this opening weekend. It feels like the odds are still stacked against it. #CoyoteVsAcme

I'm not keen on fan gatekeeping. Having one episode with a puppet crew doesn't change what's gone before. A younger viewer who discovers Star Trek through an episode with puppets might go on to explore the rest of the franchise, just as previous generations did. #StarTrek
I'm quite enjoying seeing some Star Trek fans having an absolute meltdown because the upcoming episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds features the crew as puppets. How dare a TV show have fun! #StarTrek #StarTrekStrangeNewWorlds

A small achievement today. I restrung my guitar for the first time AND got it back in tune!

I saw Spider-Man: Brand New Day at the cinema today, it was enjoyable enough. A couple of scenes with Spider-Man swinging through New York were excellent, very kinetic. #SpiderManBrandNewDay

I've not seen enough people talking about John Leguizamo's incredible performance as Eumaeus in The Odyssey. He absolutely disappears into the role, so much so that I had no idea he was in the film until I saw his name in the credits. Best supporting actor Oscar? #TheOdyssey
I saw The Odyssey this evening and thought it was excellent. Despite being a sprawling epic the story is remarkably easy to follow and not at all inaccessible to those, like me, unfamiliar with all the twists and turns. An ancient tale that still resonates. #TheOdyssey

I watched Masters of the Universe. It's good fun that plays to the audience with a knowing wink at the daftness of it all. Jared Leto is a revelation as Skeletor and takes the film up a notch. He's way over the top, in a good way, with some classic villain monologuing. You boob!

Took in some of the sights at the docks, including the @leithdistillery, on my 5 km run round Leith this evening. No sun to speak of but pleasantly warm. #Running

I've just watched the last few episodes of Parks and Recreation, I loved it. I can't believe that it took me so long to get round to watching such a great show. I imagine I'll re-watch it at some point but for the time being I'm going to miss it.

A quick snap of the Shore in Leith on my way home from seeing David Byrne last night. #Leith #Pixel9Pro #WaterOfLeith

My new favourite thing is watching Angine de Poitrine reaction videos on YouTube and seeing people having their brain melted on camera! #AngineDePoitrine

I discovered a fun Easter egg when you do a Google search for GeoCities.

David Byrne, along with his band and dancers, put on an exceptional show at the Playhouse tonight. You could have powered a small city with the energy in the theatre! Top notch performances from all involved and one of the best gigs I've been to in a long time. #DavidByrne

'Accompanied by an amazing band and dancers' might have been better phrasing.

Some interesting trivia I just learned. The person who delivers the 'oh you lucky bastard' line at the end of the spaceship scene in Monty Python's The Life of Brian is played by Charles Knode, who was one of the costume designers for Blade Runner. #BladeRunner
