Quick Tip:
In @filamentphp to disable a field depending on the current operation, maybe you want a field to only be editable during creation, not editing, you can use the "disabledOn()" function or "disabled()" passing a closure which accepts the operation variable.
Quick Tip:
In @filamentphp you can authorize each record inside the bulk action using "authorizeIndividualRecords()" method.
I think we, as Laravel/PHP community, have a problem.
I don't see many new/young devs starting with Laravel.
I also heard the same topic expressed by Taylor, Jeffrey, Nuno in podcasts.
Question: what can I/we do to promote PHP/Laravel to outsiders?
Let's brainstorm.
π₯π₯π₯ @filamentphp has a great security feature, using 'emailChangeVerification()' forces users to verify email change.
A link (valid for 60 mins) is sent to the new email, and the address isnβt updated until itβs verified. The old email also gets a link to block the change.

π¬π¬ Initial book drafts have 2,070 pages π
π
π
Writing this book has been quite exhilarating, I don't remember the last time I spent so much time focused on one thing.
Let's talk about good problems that I have. The first draft is completed. Instead of writing in one big doc, I had broken down the book into multiple folders, each folder being a chapter, and each chapter having a markdown file representing a section. So, I had no Idea of how long the book is until I came to join all the markdown files into a single markdown file then converted it to a word doc for formatting.
The initial draft had 2,070 pages. After a few formatting tweaks, reviews, separating long code snippets to a separate folder, and editing, it shrunk down to 1,374 pages π
.
I know what you are thinking, it must have a lot of bloatware! You'd be very wrong to thing that!
The core philosophy of the book is to go step by step unveiling layer by layer how the @filamentphp plugin works. I tried to edit the book and shrunk it to about 640 pages it couldn't capture the details, the information I intended to present.
So, I finally decided to break it down into 5 parts, this has several benefits:
- Reader can choose what to focus on
- I retain the intended depth and details
- The number of pages remain in a reasonable range!

{ Building Flowforge: A Different Approach to Kanban Boards }
I released the beta version of Flowforge - a Laravel package that turns any Eloquent model into a drag-and-drop Kanban board for Filament and Livewire. After months of development, I'm excited to share what I learned.
{ What Made It Interesting }
# Fractional Ranking
Traditional integer sorting breaks with concurrent users. I used a fractional ranking system (based on lexorank-php by Alex Crawford) that creates infinite positions. No database locks, no race conditions.
# Smart Pagination
Infinite scroll with cursor-based pagination handles 100+ cards per column smoothly. The fractional ranking works seamlessly even with partial data loaded.
# Database Flexibility
One migration macro automatically handles MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and SQLite collations. Write once, works everywhere.
# Native Filament Integration
Here's the interesting part - it works with ALL existing Filament table filters and infolists. No custom components needed. Your existing filters, search, and card layouts just work.
{ The Experience }
90 seconds from install to working board. One command, register the page, done.
Three integration patterns: Filament pages, resource integration, or standalone Livewire. Start simple, scale when needed.

I'm curious as to how other developers handle code lag!
How sometimes I get into a perfect, lightning-fast vibe coding session, only to be stopped dead in your tracks by the AI code lag. I think it's not just a pause; it's a complete momentum killer that shatters the delicate flow state I just built.
I'm genuinely curious how other devs are handling this forced downtime. Do you use those 10-30 seconds to plan your next step, check a quick email, or just stare into the void until the cursor moves again? What's the strategy?
