Why hasn’t my ballot been counted? I dropped it off on June 2 at a polling center in the SFV. I get why it would take longer to process mail-in votes, but this wasn’t that.
If you're into this, check out #76 of the MaxLife Podcast - I had the most incredible chat with Ben Laws.

For those in L.A. who have been locked in on Claude code for weeks on end… the tulips at @DescansoGardens are popping off. The nature break will improve your creative thinking and quality of life
Don't wait for everything to fall apart.
Notice the cracks.
Tune in to the tremors.
Weekly check-ins.
Monthly leadership meetings.
Quarterly deep dives.
The agenda always includes space for what feels "off" - even if we can't name why yet.
Notice how the simplest of statements are the most telling:
"I keep putting off that initiative. Should we reprioritize it?"
"I haven't had enough time with my family. Here's what I need."
"Does someone else need to take the lead on this?"
These aren't complaints.
They're early warning signals.
And when you honor them, you catch misalignment before it becomes crisis.
Trust builds when people can speak honestly. Frustrations don't evolve into burnout. Values stay protected when work gets hard.
Your gut knows before your brain does. The question is whether you've built a culture that listens.
If this is resonating, maybe it's time to pause and look closer... Before the next wave hits.
This is the work I love most: helping leaders tune into what their teams (and their systems) are trying to say. Together, we build rhythms that protect energy, deepen trust, and make communication feel effortless again.
A single conversation can shift how you see (and lead) everything.
Comment 'Advisor' and let's talk.
There’s a right way to share your struggles.
And there’s a way that builds walls.
What most people get wrong about “being vulnerable” online is that they confuse catharsis with clarity.
They overshare. Or they vaguepost.
And it repels the very trust they’re trying to build.
But when you take the time to process the moment, extract the insight, and share the story with purpose…
That’s when real connection happens.
The story of our worst month didn’t hurt our credibility.
It deepened it.
Because real leadership is imperfect.
I used to get Sunday scaries every single week... that pit in my stomach knowing Monday meant diving back into the chaos. I'd work 70+ hours and still feel constantly behind, like I was running on a hamster wheel that kept speeding up.
I'd check email at 10pm "just in case," then lie awake mentally rehearsing tomorrow's fires I'd need to put out. I'd say yes to calls that drained my soul because I thought that's what "good entrepreneurs" did.
I wasn't lazy. I wasn't ungrateful for my success.
I was drowning... juggling everyone else's expectations, urgencies, and definitions of "productive" without a system that honored my actual energy.
I was trying to run a business with no boundaries around what belonged on my plate.
That changed when I stopped operating from other people's playbooks and started designing my work around my natural rhythms and non-negotiables.
Now my energy has a framework to follow, my calendar reflects my priorities (not my people-pleasing), and I'm not living in constant "behind on everything" mode while working myself into the ground.
If your weeks feel like a giant game of catch-up despite working more hours than anyone you know, it's not because you can't handle success. It's because you don't have a system that supports your energy on the "everything's on fire" days.
If you're ready for something different, I'd love to hold space for that conversation. My DMs are open!
This isn't about embracing laziness (although I enjoy that, too).
It's about learning the difference between being busy and being impactful.
It's about recognizing that by attempting to do everything, we achieve nothing of value.
It's about creating boundaries as an act of self-respect.
It's about understanding that achieving a fulfilling work-life balance isn't a luxury - it's a necessity for sustainable success and happiness.
Your time is your most valuable asset - invest it wisely. đź’«
