Of Scotland’s six major rivers (Tay, Clyde, Tweed, Forth, Dee, and Spey), half of them can trace their headwaters to just one hill: Carn an Fhidhleir (Carn Ealar) in the Cairngorms NP. It also marks the historic boundary between Invernes-shire, Aberdeenshire, & Perthshire.
Just my thoughts from years of working with amazing female endurance and adventure athletes. e3coach.com/are-women-better…

Incredibly proud of the hard work @antarctic_fire put in training to achieve their goal. Bex and George, and the team who prepared alongside them, are an inspiration. Congratulations all 🙌 – at Scotland, United Kingdom
Our #goal of skiing to the South Pole finally draws to an end after punishing winds, plummeting temperatures towards the pole, sastrugi and white outs.
Getting to the ceremonial #SouthPole comes with a lot of #emotion, #relief, #joy & of course that huge sense of #achievement!

Just as the sun started dipping below the horizon a flash of light illuminated the distant Ben Lawers’ hills. Twenty seconds later it was gone.

Team deployed this pm side by side with @cairngorm_mrt to first avalanche incident of the season near Ben Macdui.
Human triggered but thankfully no one was discovered buried after extensive search of large site by both teams.
Don’t think it won’t happen.

Day 5:
They’ve passed the 100km mark & have made camp for the night after a full and tiring ten hours of skiing.
Bex shows gratitude to Toby who has taught them everything they need to know about completing a polar expedition & surviving in extreme cold. Thanks Toby!
