August, you’ve mistaken your personal hatred of President Kagame for some profound political analysis. Throwing around the word “fascist” and lumping four different leaders together doesn’t make your accusations any more credible. And this dramatic announcement that Kagame’s supporters are now your enemies? Please. Rwandans aren’t sitting around waiting for your approval, let alone trembling at your disapproval. The sheer self-importance of thinking your personal grievances constitute a geopolitical event is quite something.

Tshisekedi can allegedly siphon millions of euros out of Congo and park the money in Belgium, and somehow that barely raises an eyebrow. But God forbid that same wealth flows to another African country. Suddenly, we’d hear endless outrage about how that country is “stealing Congo’s minerals.” Apparently, Congo’s wealth leaving Africa is acceptable; it only becomes theft when another African country benefits.
