Happy New Year, everyone! Just wanted to say a quick thank you for all the Fox Boy recap love and support this last year 🙏😌. It will never not amaze me that more than one or two kind souls are still reading them, and even more so that people actually wait for them to appear. 🫣🤯 Some (obviously deranged) people have asked if they can easily read the full recap back catalogue, so I’ve added them all onto my highlights tab (and I’m pretending my OCD is unbothered by the fact Twitter put two of the Wimby recaps out of order in the otherwise chronological lineup 😮‍💨😬). Anyway, thank you again, and bring on 2026! 🥳 According to the Chinese Zodiac, it’s the Year of t̶h̶e̶ ̶H̶o̶r̶s̶e̶ Little Miss Variety…

Has anyone else noticed that they have just subconsciously decided what their tennistwt people’s real-life voices sound like, and so now read all of their tweets in that voice? 😅

We all know his crazy win numbers, but for me, some of the most underrated Jannik Sinner stats are his losses - or more specifically, the way he loses. For the second time in his career, in 2026, he has finished a tennis season without losing a match in straight sets. In fact, he has actually only conceded one straight-setter in the last three years (Carlos, 2025 Rome final). For context, only one other player in ATP history (a relatively unknown chap - pretty sure his name was something like Robert or Rodney or maybe even Roger?), has done the same thing all the way back in 2005, and even he could only accomplish this feat once. Meanwhile, this carrot-fueled robot was just one tiebreak away from doing it three years in a row. Yep, even on his “off” days, the ginger is still a gigantic pain in the entire ATP tour’s asses, and we love him all the more for it. 😉🧡🦊

Did not see this one coming at all. And, yes, this statement is a very delectable word salad, seasoned with a pinch of PR buzzwords, BUT some people on here are still way too comfortable casting aspersions on two individuals they have never met and know very little about…
Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils are ending their marriage 💔 Elina shared this message on IG: “This is the most difficult thing I have ever had to share. Everyone knows how much Ukraine means to me. What I have rarely spoken about is what the war has done to me inside. Last year, I told you I needed to step away from the court because I wasn't in the right emotional space. Today, I want to open up a little more. What you didn't see were the sleepless nights, the doubts, and the feeling of slowly losing myself. Gaël saw all of it. He never let go of my hand. We fought through this together for a long time, with everything we had. But some battles happen deep inside you, and no amount of love from someone else can win them for you. With time, I came to understand that I need to find my way back to myself and that I cannot do that within our marriage. It is the hardest truth I have ever had to face and the hardest thing I have ever had to tell the person I love. Gaël listened. He has respected what I need with a strength and grace I will never forget. Gael has loved me through my greatest joys and my darkest moments, and I have loved him with all my heart. Together, we built a beautiful life, and we were given the most precious gift of all, our daughter, Skai. Skai will always come first. Our marriage is ending, but our family is not. We will always be her parents, side by side, at every step of her life. Please know that there is no one to blame here. There are only two people who loved each other deeply and a story that is changing shape. We ask for your kindness and for the space we need to heal. Thank you for your love 🤍”

Jodar fans: NO, he isn’t rude or aggressive to ball kids at all! People just took one bad camera angle at RG and created a fake villain narrative. Jodar: Hold my beer.

Me: All these articles about Jannik Sinner are just pure clickbait and no actual facts. Ugh, I wish people would stop believing everything they read. Me seeing an article that Jannik’s comeback will be my home tournament: Well, this one is 10000000% true. 😂🤞🦊

Djokodad really said that if the ginger son is still the #1 pain in his ass, then he should still be the #1 pain in EVERYONE’S ass, and I think that kind of family loyalty is truly touching to see. 🥰👌😂

I understand the frustration from fans about Jannik Sinner’s injury and (perceived) lack of transparency. I only put it to the fans who believe he should be better at communicating - if there’s no certainties for him too, what exactly should he be saying? Realistically, the only thing of interest to the public is his return date. Yes, of course, we can all loudly declare that, no, we’re simply curious to know what the injury is, but truthfully, the only relevance of having the medical diagnosis is so we can consult Dr Google and put a definitive timestamp on when said injury will be comfortably ski-sliding around a cement rectangle again. The difficulty is that, in all likelihood, Jannik and his medical team do not even have a confident timestamp themselves. And, if the injury recovery time is as unpredictable as it appears to be, then them attempting to be transparent and publicly providing an estimated return date, will instead only open them up to further panic and scrutiny if that promised deadline is not met. Suddenly the doctors and physios will have proved ineffective, the bald figure will somehow still be responsible for all the sins of the world, and, for his critics, the ginger will have fabricated yet another far-fetched tale. Jannik has made (I assume, very deliberately) zero promises or guarantees of return this injury period. Instead, some fans have pinned their hopes on the predictions of overly optimistic and creative journalists and commentators, and then seemingly blamed the carrot for not correcting them (despite him likely not having any better timeframes) when these fictional travel itineraries came and went. Sport is unpredictable. Injuries happen pre-tournament and even mid-tournament, all the time. Purchasing tickets (no matter how much you spend) guarantees you a match. It does not ever guarantee you a player, and one must simply accept that risk as being the nature of sport. If you buy a ticket to a Broadway show because you’ve been desperately waiting to see the lead actor in the flesh, but then yours happens to be the one performance they’re home celebrating a family birthday, well, the show must still go on. Disappointment over Jannik Sinner’s tour absence is normal and valid and widely shared. Expecting a tennis player to somehow possess a crystal ball or wave a magic wand just to appease your anxieties, is not. See you when you see you, Fox Boy. ✌️🦊

Jannik, mate, your commitment to helping maintain my regular sleep cycle is very much appreciated, but honestly, after three months I actually feel TOO rested, so I’d really rather watch some 2am Sinnerball again soon. 🙃❤️‍🩹 Rest up, and fingers crossed your desire to purchase a small island can outweigh your knee pain, and we’ll get to see you playing in three weeks… 😉🤴

Noooooooooooo 😭😭 Felt like this was coming, but always still hoped we’d get another 12 months. Papa Fages, you’re a legend. The person you are, what you’ve done for the club, and the culture and devotion you have inspired in players and fans alike, is second to none. Enjoy the next life chapter, mate. You’ve earned it. ❤️🦁
The Brisbane Lions today confirm that Senior Coach, Chris Fagan has informed the Club he will retire from the role after 10 extraordinary seasons at the helm, closing a defining chapter in the Lions history.

Every few days/weeks/months on here, there is a fresh argument on whether Jannik Sinner or Carlos Alcaraz is the best tennis player in the world. *yawnnnnnn* Nevertheless, every time I read the outraged and passionate defences of both players, I am struck by the analogy that Tennis Twitter fans are really just like a group of parents chatting (read: bragging) at the school gates. Yes, as proud parents, we all think our child is the smartest/funniest/best-looking/most gifted, and we expect everyone else to see the same perfect, flawless qualities. Did the class teacher declare our son to be the brightest student in the cohort? Well, obviously, he’s speaking only the most accurate of truths (even if it could be a slightly biased perspective because our boy just signed up to play on the teacher’s sports team that he coaches for fun in his spare time, whilst the other class genius is too busy building robots and has no time for group work, nor activities which will not score him any formal academic credits). Of course, whilst we always think our child is the best, and take the opinions of those who agree as being the gospel, objective numbers and statistics don’t lie. The issue only falls in which numbers we choose to focus on to make our argument. Did our son win the most trophies at his school prize day? Well, it’s settled, he must have the highest academic ceiling, compared to everyone else. But hang on, wait a minute, there’s this other child genius who routinely scores the top in his test results, and in fact, even recorded the highest ever individual test score in history. Hmm, so maybe his peak is actually the Mt Everest of the cohort’s mountain range? 🤔 The truth is, comparisons are pointless when the schooling years have not been completed. Because, the precocious kindergarten child who is already writing their name in cursive font whilst the rest of their peers are still figuring out how to hold the pencil, is very rarely the same individual delivering the valedictorian address at their graduation two decades later. In any case, the thing that many of these pseudo-parent tennis fans forget in their haste to anoint their child as the Big-3’s successor and even superior, is that parents typically love their children unconditionally. If other people see their offspring’s beauty, kindness, and genius, that makes it all the sweeter, but either way, they love their child most for who and what they are, separate to anyone else’s opinions. Whether your child is the one who has already won 10 of the races across the monkey bars or is his best friend recording 7 of his own victories in their fierce playground battles, the only relevant thing is that either way, you still love watching their swinging technique the most. So, friends, next time this needless debate crops up, let’s all try and be the parent who manfully swallows down their story about how their child recently drew the cure for cancer on their etch-a-sketch, and simply walks away from all the other seagulls still squabbling over each other’s equally delicious fries at the school gates. ✌️

To all the bees swarming into my mentions, I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely apologise for writing this overly lengthy essay, in which I “crashed out” and discussed that Carlos Alcaraz was ….… *checks notes*……. one of the best tennis players in the world. 🫣😔 Whilst I confess that I still hold that belief, I can see how publicly expressing such a controversial opinion could be offensive and triggering to his fans. I will endeavour to do better next time, and keep these kind of nasty thoughts to myself. 😉🫶
