2. Chicago has the 2nd largest Mexican population in the country
3. They KILLED it. Nailed it from start to finish.
4. If anyone has a problem with this, you have too much hate in your heart.
5. This was beautiful.

I have never been a fan of Merz. But this is really good. To stand up to the far right head-on, rather than pandering to their narratives.
Probably the only way forward.
MERZ: For four and a half years, Ukraine has been fighting for its survival, and no one — yes, no one — has threatened Russia...
[AfD shouting and interrupting Merz]
Let me say this again now, quite calmly. We support Ukraine, and we will continue to support Ukraine.
Because they are also defending our freedom, even here in the middle of our European continent.
And your [AfD] reactions only show that you clearly intend to continue this downright grotesque reversal of perpetrator and victim.
No one has threatened Russia. Not NATO, not European Union, not Germany. And your [AfD] reactions show exactly how you think.
Ladies and gentlemen, the only thing that truly threatens Russia and Putin is the radiance of democracy.
Ukraine was on its way into European democratic family, and that is precisely the real danger to Putin’s regime in Russia.
And you in AfD know that, yet you remain unchanged on Russia’s side when it comes to defending our freedom here as well.
oh dear - what could have happened to cause this?,,,
Youth unemployment in the UK has overtaken that of the EU.

them Daoists might be on to something...
“A crooked tree lives its own life, but a straight tree is turned into wood.”
- Chinese Proverb
The idea behind this proverb comes most clearly from the writings of Zhuangzi, one of the central thinkers of Daoism in the 4th century BCE.
In the Zhuangzi, a famous story tells of a large, twisted tree that carpenters ignore because its wood is unsuitable for construction. Precisely because it is considered “useless,” the tree is never cut down and survives to live out its natural life.
Zhuangzi uses the tree as a metaphor for human life. In Daoist thought, being “useful” by conventional standards can make a person vulnerable to exploitation, control, and exhaustion. Those who are unconventional, overlooked, or unwilling to fit society’s expectations may instead preserve their freedom and live on their own terms.
stonking...go Oisin...
The champion jockey @oismurphy was on fire tonight riding 5 winners from his 8 rides.

Stepping stones in Pompeii still doing their job after 2,000 years. The Roman city’s paved roads doubled as open-air drainage channels during heavy rain, flushing away any refuse downhill. Raised stones kept pedestrian feet dry while carts rolled right through. Roman genius!
