Here’s how the scam is said to work: 📱 1. Your phone is stolen. Pickpockets allegedly work in a group and steal your phone without you noticing. 🚨 2. Someone approaches you with a fake phone. When you realise your phone is missing, another person comes over pretending they have found it and asks, “Is this your phone? Put your PIN in so I can check.” 🔐 3. They try to get your passcode. You enter your PIN, thinking you’re checking whether the phone is yours. You then realise it isn’t your phone and hand it back. 💸 4. Your real phone may already be gone.
